Following on my my tutorial showing you how to make a little corner to corner square this video will show you how to crochet your squares together as you go. Note that I’m showing four individual squares joined to form a square so that I can cover every possible join for you in the shortest time for the video however I generally join the squares in rows when making a full blanket.
This tutorial uses UK CROCHET TERMS and assumes you already know how to make a slipknot, slipstitch, chain and treble crochet

Hi Faye, I'm wondering about a border for this type of blanket. How many stitches would you put at the edge of each square? I assume one stitch per treble, where the direction of the stitch is lined up with the border stitch. Would you try to get three stitches into the side of the treble (where the treble stitches lie in the opposite direction of your border stitches)? Thanks for your advice!

Beautiful. I love it. One question. Any idea how many grams of yarn u need for a square?

It will depend on the yarn you use. The best thing to do is make one the size you would like it out of your chosen yarn and then weigh it. You can then get a rough idea of how many you would get from one ball

I think I'm being very stupid, but when you've got your first four squares joined, how do you go on with the next ones?

You don’t necessarily need to join four like this straight away, I just showed them like this so that all possible joins were covered in as small amount of time possible. I generally work this pattern in rows 👍🏻

This looks like a lovely fun project, great way to use wool from a stash. Watching your left hand technique though makes me very uncomfortable and I actually have a hard time watching, lol. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but the whole idea with using a hook is that you don't have to use your fingers to wrap the yarn around the hook, you just slip the hook under the working yarn and pull it through. There's a lot of extra unnecessary movement with your left hand every time you let go of the square to wrap the yarn. Try putting the working yarn over top your first finger rather than letting it slip through the 2nd and 3rd fingers, that way it's easy to slip the hook under the working yarn without letting go of the project for every stitch.

I’ve been crocheting this way for 30years now, it is natural for me. I don’t think there is any right or wrong way, just what is comfortable for the individual. I’m sorry I made you feel uncomfortable, you’ve made me feel sad.

@@LittleDoveCrochet I'm sorry for making you sad, I should learn to keep my opinions to myself, lol. I do appreciate your effort making instructional videos. All the best.
