A lot of people don't like cabs for performance reasons, but imo there's nothing better than driving with the top down in the mountains!! Looks like you're having a good time!

That’s true. I believe the McLaren with its carbon tub states there is no degradation in rigidity due to open top. I can say there is no cowl shake. Thanks for watching.

Great video! Quick question roughly how much did you pay for the mechanic who flew in to do the oil/trans/clutch service was it cheaper then the dealer? Thanks!

Thank you for watching. All in it is a few hundred dollars cheaper to have me ha if come to me. But it is more than that. Let me explain. Since the closest McLaren dealer is 5+ hours away I either have to drive there or have it hauled. Hauling is likely $1200-$1800 r/t and driving is the fuel + mileage on the car plus overnight expenses. And, all the coordination time to do that stuff. Mechanic coming to me I do have to coordinate oil disposal, but that’s not too difficult. So, when I add up all those things it’s a lot less expensive mechanic coming to me than me going to the dealer. The one caveat is I am not too far for mechanic to travel to. A few hour plane ride. I’m sure if I was 8 hours and they had to stay the night it would be more. So take that into account. I hope that helps you think of things to consider when comparing costs.

@RS Xperience Thanks for the explanation. Luckily for me I live closeby to a dealer so logistics isn't an issue. I'm out of warranty though and I am debating if it's wise to still go to dealer for maintaining good service records if I want to resale. Is it still worth it to have one of the flying mechanics come in to do the service? Right now I'm at 18k miles and I need to do clutch/trans and routine oil change and filters. I am also debating whether I should do the spark plugs and coils too. I'm glad the mcmedics took care of you! I do want to try them just not sure it's wise being I'm close to a dealer and costs for someone to fly out and stay a night might come out to same as a dealer which I can hold liable if something were to happen to the car while in their possesion. Thanks!

I hear you. I debate the dealer vs Indy shop on maintenance work. Some will question on the resale others it won’t matter. Having the service record / invoice is what’s important for either. We know all dealer shops are techs aren’t necessarily the best. YMMV. Can’t hurt to ping McMedics to get a price though.
