If you’ve ever had chickens, you will know they are the absolute sweetest birds. I raised them from chicks when I was young and I’d sit in their coop with them for hours just talking and spending time with them. Very good listeners 💛

Yes they absolutely are although my pet rooster i raised when I was little was an ornery fucker that was too good at playing tag with me. He would peck at my ankles then run away so I'd chase him until I finally "tagged him" by picking him up and so the cycle of never-ending tag began!! I learned quickly to wear thick long socks and jeans😭❤ I miss him though! He really was such a sweet heart :)

My hens use to love to come tattle on each other. One would come running up and chatter away all the way out to their run, as if telling on everyone else. I'd keep the conversation going with the occasional Really....you don't say.

Omg girl, we are the same person, I have been feeding animals my entire life. I would carry cat food in my tote too and from work to feed the strays. Wish I had some chickens around here :(. I want more plants but, need to learn how to provide them what they need to survive and thrive, not just fail or die! You are now my new favorite follow on KZbin

This is so awesome, in my neighborhood, we have peacocks that have lived there for 30+ years, and as I've grown up there, I've seen all the different generations. In recent years (5ish), an albino female cropped up, and she had herself an albino baby as well, and they're always amazing to see. They patrol the entire area, and this totally reminds me of that. Such a treat to have something like this as part of your routine!

I grew up in the city and we were told that pigeons were full of diseases. My mon freaked out once when I brought an injured one home once. I learned to be grossed out by them so it is interesting to see you love and feed them, making their presence desired!

Ha, same. We call them rats of the sky. You can get get fined for feeding pigeons in the uk!

Yup, if there are many of them multiplying and they nest on your roof top, their poop can be toxic to inhale. And their poop also drop on your clothes dried on the line. When they flip their wings, lots of fine feathers will fly in the air. I try not to leave any rice grain at my backyard inorder to discourage them to come. They can bring diseases. My opinion only

I so enjoy the chickens so sweet. Save your egg shells. Rinse them let them dry and put them in oven. You can grind them in blender. Take the powder and put it in the food chicken is eating. You can also put on your plants.

We put our parrots out back in the morning and I started giving some excess seeds to the two Asian Turtle Doves that nest in the house next door. Two turned into five, turned into ten plus two babies: apparently, word travels fast in the Turtle Dove "community". We also have a free range chicken flock here in the middle of the city.
