I currently work as a permanent housekeeper at one of the NHS Trusts in Essex and am also registered as a substantive employee with NHS Professionals (NHSP). Occasionally, I take on housekeeping bank shifts within the Trust. Although I don't have direct experience in healthcare support, I am interested in working as a healthcare support worker. I completed 15 care certificates six months ago when I started my current role. Given my situation, is it possible for me to take on bank shifts as a healthcare support worker, either within the hospital where I work or elsewhere, including in London?

Hi babes, thanks for watching and subscribing. I will try to make the video the only difference is the first question where they ask you that are you known by a manager. You need to answer “yes” to that question and complete the application as required. So in that case nhsp will tell you to send your manager email to them so the person can approve your application. You can send the email of the ward manager or ward sister where you are currently doing your placement. Nhsp will send a form to the manager to complete on your behalf and that’s it. As a student nurse you will be a bank exclusive member. You can pick shifts in the local trust where you are doing your placement and you can pick any ward. Which also serves a learning opportunity because you will be able to see what they do in other department and will be nice especially if you don’t have opportunity to go for placement there. I once picked a shift to work in the emergency department and from that one shift I knew working in emergency department was not for me. I couldn’t cope with the chaos. The reason naught be that that trust is not currently recruiting bank staff. They may be fully staffed. So you can call nhsp on 0333 240 7552 and tell them to tell you trust that are currently reqruiting bank staff in your location or environs

Uk, always give credit to your past experience. Write your experience of engineering in your cv as you will normally do, add your HCA experience . List your skills that you have gained in engineering such as effective communication, teamwork and time management and how you have inculcated these skills into your healthcare journey which makes you to be more productive and effective as work.
