I've been following this whole thing with huge interest. My observations are as follows: TLDR: You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. The long one: This unfortunately isn't the Final. As has been seen by the comments on here and many other videos. The fact is that no matter how much you put in front of some people, they will ALWAYS deny/reject/deflect/divert. It's unfortunately a human condition. If it wasn't flat earth, it would be something else. The advent of the ability of anyone to be able to post their thoughts and make videos on the subject, it will reel in others who don't understand. And the constant two way vitriol just perpetuates the argument. My big takeway from this is that I am supremely jealous of the people involved in all of this, what a sight to behold. what an experience. I can only wish for such an event in my life. Another is that no matter how opposed I am to what someone may write on here, how diametrically different from my own views, I will not engage/converse or otherwise give it any further thought and especially no interaction (thumbs up/thumbs down). All the name calling under the 24 Hour sun won't do anything for my soul, so I won't interact. Once again, amazing stuff and congratulations to Will and everyone else. More power to you

2 The quantitative measurement would involve measuring the angle to the sun/moon/start relative to the dirrection down and the angle that plane makes with a particular stellar direction, usually North or South. I think part of the problem is moving from more physically based demonstrations, like shining a spotlight from one side of a gymnasium to a globe on the other, toward more multi-media based demonstrations that might be affecting the quality of education. Some people are visual learners, some people learn better through speech than visuals, but there are also others that learn by being able to actually touch and manipulate physical objects. I think the move to digital learning has been detrimental to those individuals.

They will just deny that has anything to do with anything. Remember, in order to flerf, you have to deny reality. And once you get to the point where you deny reality, then there is nothing that can be said to change it.
@peterdamaris71125 сағат бұрын
3 And just in case FLERFS can't work this one out, you can do the measurement at sea too. There is no reason why people on two different ships can't perform the measurement of angles relative to down or the horizon (which should be 90 relative to the direction that is down). Performed at the same time proves different directions down, and therefore that the water between the ships must be curved since the tangents of the water's surface are different. Performed at three or more locations or with a baseline (a known distance between locations), we can measure the distance to the object we are measuring angles off (if it is close enough given our measurement accuracy). Performing the same measurements one hour apart can give the rate of rotation of the earth relative to the object being measured against. Performed against multiple stars can give the rotation relative to the visible* universe ie 15 degrees per hour. Performed with angles close to vertical rather than close to horizontal can eliminate the tiny amount of refraction in light that travels towards the horizon.

One of the counter intuitive things about the current state of technology is that the mundane everyday life no longer requires any special knowledge... anyone can use cellphones, GPS, etc. without having the slightest clue about the underlying science that has enabled these things. Thus you get people arguing the earth is flat, while the very technology they are using to broadcast their point of view is based on the science foundations that are derived in part form Newton's and others' work on the geometry of the universe. A similar problem exists in healthcare. Within one or two generations, people have forgotten all about how much measles, polio, and other viral diseases affected many folks (saying nothing of STDs...) and we now have to deal with anti-vaxxers and basically re-educate folks on germ theory.

To me, this will be the most exciting part of the data set. Having ongoing observation, worldwide (including Antarctica!) will be very significant. Both flat earthers and globers can enter their observations! The data will get correlated and rendered into a time lapse video, showing both the globe and flat projection. The data set will be available. Those who object to the AE model being used to represent flat earth can also use the data set to refine their model as desired.

They want people to film sunspots when the Sun is in the north. Jeran was also filming sunspots when the Sun was in the north. Then they all got on the plane. For those who don’t know, the south is behind the mountains next to them, a direction they never showed using any solar filter. There’s no need to mislead people by asking for sunspots while only filming the Sun in the north. Now they are returning without documenting themselves filming the Sun in the south using a solar filter, it is the most crucial thing was to capture sunspots when the Sun is in the south. Now nobody can be sure if they might flip a northern Sun's sunspot and present it as a southern sunspot.
@SkoshKSP12 сағат бұрын
Wouldn't the spots be the same? It's only separated from North and south by 12 hours
@scyz280712 сағат бұрын
Dave McKeegan has a time lapse up, and in it it shows that the Sun IS above those mountains to the south. The same time lapse also shows Dave's rotating camera (that is following the Sun). That camera has a solar filter on it to reveal the Sun spots. So, the Sun did not drop below those mountains from where The Final Experiment was located. Now the main camp, with all those tents and where the landing strip is was a couple or a few kilometers closer to those mountains. So, the Sun may have dipped below the mountain tops there, but it wasn't hidden by those mountains where the TFE Observation area was set up.

As a flat Earther since 2015, I've always maintain that the equa-distance map was not the correct flat Earth map. I knew this because of sunset and sunrise times in the Southern hemisphere, and the fact that they did not jive or fit their map. However, the Earth is still very much flat despite the hoax Gleasons maps destruction. The real map is Pac-Man world, a square map with two poles, two star trails, and portals at the edge. Twelve portals at the edges, three on each side of the square flat Earth, that are fully described in the book of Enoch. Also, the monolith in a 2001: Space Odyssey is our flat square Earth.

Yes, an observation of the sun doing something that isn't possible on a flat earth.
@semper_reformanda15 сағат бұрын
When the sun behaves at the poles (North and South) the same - you can conclude that the Northpole and the Southpole must look similar. The more you get away from the poles to the equator zone the less you will see a 24 hour sun. So this is why I can conclude that the shape of the earth must be a globe mirroring the poles.

What I don't understand is; while there are many problems with the spinning ball globe earth model, most people have no problem with that. But when there is just one problem with the flat earth surface model, and everyone is like "ohh flat earth is dead" lol. Why is that? This 24 hour sun thing does not disprove a flat surface earth. It just means that there is something about the flat earth surface that most people were wrong about.
@roytee312710 сағат бұрын
The only problems with the spinning ball globe Earth are flerfers' refusal to accept basic science and math and how they are revealed on the Earth and the rest of the universe, and lack of any sense of scale. Add being led astray by a literal belief in the Biblical Creation myth.
