So why does smiling mask cost you theoretical money?? It's a free relic you neither gain or lose anything by picking it up it's effectively net neutral if you don't use it right?? I mean ya if you use it there is still benefit with reduced shop prices how is that losing you gold?? You aren't obligated to remove more then needed. If Jorbs or anyone wants to explain that I just don't see it.

Membership card reduces prices by 50%. That makes card removes cost 37. Smiling mask makes card remove always cost 50. So it's a bit more expensive at the start, compared to not having it. Later on it makes back the money if you remove enough cards.

Just throwing this out there because you said you wish 'Panache' was good. It is good, so good I just beat the 3rd boss in 7 hands. Yes both lives. Try this out on the Silent Panache & Nightmare+ Throw in 1- infinite blades+ 1- prepared 2- escape plan 1- calculated gamble 1- slice 1- neutralize 1- adrenaline 1- backflip 1- acrobatics 1- cloak and dagger See what's going on here... Nightmare makes 3 copies of panache, which are all 0 energy cards then every turn you do 40+ damage. It was amazing. Just using a bunch of free energy cards plus multi stacking panache with a few shivs to help. The only other card then Nightmare I had that had 2 or more energy cost was envenom and I upgraded it to reduce cost. Keep the deck thin, I had a 32 card deck which is bigger than I wanted but the combo of all the draw cards let me mill it quickly and find my nightmare and panache at the same time.

Every card has situations where they're good, barring clash and maybe a small few others, but you're never guaranteed to get the build necessary to make the card shine, and with panache being a rare colorless card it's difficult to find it on a run that would benefit from it.
