Used it today. Very easy to use and does what it says on the box. Patio looks spot on.

mines been down a year and its as soft as butter ! you can push a chair leg straight through it ! and its full of moss and weeds ....everything it says it doesn't do on the bucket ? that was done by a builder ! I have purchased some more in an attempt to correct this doing everything by the letter...we shall see and photos to follow .

Hi Jamie, this absolutely shouldn't be happening and is extremely unusual. Would you mind sending our technical team a photo on WhatsApp on the number 00353871466367 and they will look into it and see what's going on with this? Many thanks.

Good tip is only brush diagonally. You are less likely to remove product from the joints

Can we mix jointing sand with dry cement to fill the gaps then wet it after? Second question: I've seen builders mix cement and jointing sand and spread it all over the flat bed of sharp sand, put the slabs down, then wet the slabs for a few minutes. What do you reckon? Is it a good idea?

If you have previously pointed paving and some of it has failed, what is the process? Does it all need to be raked out or just the loose / failed mortar?
@officialjointit2 жыл бұрын
Hello, could you please email your contact details to gary@jointit.com, it would be great if I could give you a call to understand your particular patio better and give you the best plan of action. Kind regards Gary Duffy Sales & Technical Director

I bought some today on recommendation, it looks like it will do the job nicely. Can I ask, why doesn't it just come in heavier guage bags, is there a need for buckets?
@officialjointit3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sean, if you don't use all of your product, you can put it back into the bucket and cover with clean water so it can be used for up to 12 weeks. We worked very hard on manufacturing strong bags, but because of how they're transported all over the world, they need to be in a protective bucket otherwise the bags could get holes in them when they're in transit. If the product comes into contact with air before use, the product won't be usable. Hope this answers your question. Let us know how your project goes!

Can it be sealed after it is set to reduce the need for jet washing
@officialjointit3 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt, Yes absolutely we strongly recommend sealing. Ideally you would seal before jointing but it can be done afterwards as well. This will prevent dirt from penetrating the stone and the joints making it much easier to maintain. We recommend our sealer which is compatible with Joint-It Simple, it's called Joint-It Premium Seal and provides really durable and long lasting protection against dirt and grime. jointit.com/products/joint-it-premium-seal/

Gary where do you purchase such a squeegee for use with your product?
@officialjointit3 жыл бұрын
Hi Giles, You should be able to purchase in most hardware stores, but you don't need a squeegee. You can use a hard bristled brush and then use a soft bristled brush to top up the joints and remove the excess at the end. You can see this process in our newer video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2Ole3uwnt-YgbM Let us know if you have any more questions. Thanks.

How long does this take to set? I did everything you did in this video. I've had it down for about 3 hours and it's still very soft, feels like a rainstorm would wash it away
@officialjointit3 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the weather. If it's raining, it will take longer to dry out - but don't worry it will eventually dry out and harden. The product hardens up to 7 days, and by 30 days the product has fully cured. It's just the weather and temperature that can alter the drying time.

Very easy to put down alright, but the oil from the stuff seems to have left a slight discolouration on the slabs (slate).... what can I do about that?
@officialjointit5 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your feedback. This can sometimes happen if the stone is very porous, like slate, but it will fade. If you could email your contact phone number to info@jointit.com, or send a private message and our Technical Director, Gary Duffy will give you a call to explain this process and answer any questions you may have.

Does this require a certain ratio mix of the bedding mortar?
@officialjointit6 жыл бұрын
Hi Rodger yes mix ratio for bedding 6:1 sand and cement. Jointit simple is a permeable product and the bedding needs to be permeable the 6 part sand and 1 part cement will give you a permeable bedding. Make sure there’s no rocking or loose slabs before you apply Jointit simple Feel free to email or call me if you need any further assistance Gary sales and technical director Gary@jointit.com 00353871466367

Official Joint It thanks for the information, I have just ordered 5 tubs. I had heard that these products require a permeable mortar mix but was wary incase 6 to 1 wasn't strong enough. It's only foot traffic though. Thanks again

@@officialjointit Hi Gary Just remembered to get back to you as I was very busy since. I used JOINTIT as per your instructions and it worked a treat. The reason I remembered to reply, was that I power washed all the patios that I have around my house. I was so impressed with Jointit, that I grouted the lot to keep weeds down. The sealant remained secure during the washing that I thought of how decent you were to reply to my query originally. Overall a Rolls Royce product that really is easy to work with and goes a tremendous long way, but most of all weeds do not have a chance. Many Thanks
