Where I used to teach woodwork, there was an elderly technician who was a retired bar fitter. He used to work like this all of the time and could demonstrate the most obscure Chinese joints. This video was just superb and reminded me of him... Thank you very much for such an excellent lesson.

Beautiful joint. I love the strongly contrasting woods to show the joint off better. Dang if I don't get jealous of your skill with every video, but it does inspire me to try to do better. Keep them coming, thanks.

What a beautiful wooden flame! Your skill is really good. When I was young, most Korean houses had this type of window frame. However, these window frames are now hard to find except for traditional houses for tourists.
@chojsandsol
@chojsandsol 4 жыл бұрын
The reason why it is hard to find such a window frame anymore is that instead of these wooden windows, the factory-produced aluminum windows are used.

Nice Soul-R&B addition to your normal Jazz mix . By chance are some of those chisels new ,or we haven't seen them used yet in this wonderfully informative series? Some of them seem to have a damascene or acid etched look to them I never noticed or saw before .

@DorianBracht 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I‘ve had a lot of them for a long time. The damascus chisels have been around for years. The new camera shows the details better.
@420choochy
@420choochy 6 жыл бұрын
Ahh okay that explains why some of your cuts as of late seem to not be as "precise" as they were or have been. I somehow found it difficult that all of a sudden your abilities have dampened and lessened,now I know it has more to do with how detailed the camera is in it's focus . Which says lot's simply because the only ,"fault" or imprecision ,and that's said very very lightly is on the one side where you made it seems a tad too deep of a final chisel cut. Will say after watching your series ,and I am in no way a woodworker or know anything about joints or any sort . Thought hey ,a table with a three part mortise and tenon mixture would look aesthetically pleasing and be completely functionable ,and be able to withstand heavy forces in many different vectors . Basically a slight variation on #6 through tenon with sword tip miter and into it a vary slight variation of this exact through mortise and tenon with mitered faces into the top right angle of the horizontal . And then realized I might have caught a wood worker bug ,ha ha . Again thanks for your uploads ,they are pleasing and informative .
