Until you've tried to make the joints you have in your series it's difficult to understand just how difficult they are to make and the tremendous amount of skill necessary to accomplish them. Great series you have and a pleasure/challenge to watch and try. Thank you for taking the time to produce them.

You be crazy. You know it really would be cool to see something like a coffee table made using as many crazy joints as possible. Just randomly where ever they fit. With your black and blond timber it could look quite interesting. Most likely make you truly crazy though.

Totally freaking amazing work! I don't think that I will be trying this type of joinery any time soon. I guess if one made a few hundred of those joints they would get pretty good at it. All that's needed is the patience, skill, and tools! Good luck with that..... :)

That has to be the hardest joint you've done so far ,at least to my eye it seems that way . Very technical and precise cuts and chiseling ,can even see where for you ,(rarely) cut to far into areas just because the amount of angles and precision is demanding,as always beautiful work and thanks for sharing and uploads. By chance maybe I'm weird ,but how come there isn't a woodworking version of Forged in Fire ,no reason there couldn't be .

Dorian, as a beginning woodworker the Japanese style of joinery fascinates me. How do I begin learning to do this type of joinery? There are no classes where I live. Are there books I could purchase that would teach me, and if so, what are the titles so I can get them?
@DorianBracht
@DorianBracht 6 жыл бұрын
I would start with the basics, which are the same in all cultures. Then move on to more complex stuff. The books don’t teach, they just have drawings. Also depends on if you want to build furniture or structures.

Schönes Video, Dorian. Wow, super Verbindung geworden.
