the jointed shallow raider is my absolute favorite

Wind. I also love this bait in wind and big waves. In fact, arguably this is where it is at its best. Over shallow rocks when a blade or topwater bite isn’t working. And -- night fishing!!! Wow, is this bait good after dark. Deadly! Dude. 😎

Good tip, thanks! I have switched to split ring connection to lure pretty much full time now. I prefer it now that I'm used to it. I just keep a split ring pliers handy now.

Nice. Great one to have on a finicky day. Question? Does it have a natural buoyancy on the pause? Will it rise or sink? Thanks, Chas. You are the best tool in my tackle box.

Had one of my best days chasing musky using a JBO perch jointed shallow raider! Caught the first one then ten minutes later caught #2. It will always be one of my confidence baits!

great tip too many days of cold fronts up here. Now there is a winning technique to keep hunting ski's efficiently. Thanks for the information and hard work

One of my favorite baits, compliments a bucktail well. And it's a proven big fish bait . Ticking weeds put my first 50 in the boat.

What about the wear on the split ring? I get that it gives the bait better action then a snap but we’re still not getting away from opening and closing the split ring that also weakens the split ring. I’ve had way more split rings fail or be stuck open then I’ve had snaps fail.

@@joelalvestad5999 just a personal preference thing I guess and also depends on what type of split ring you use (strength and size etc.) IMHO split rings last longer bc you don’t need to open them much to connect a lure. As you mentioned, there are also some major strength snaps on the market too.

Is a 7’6 mh mojo musky ok for a first musky rod?
@MikeYurbasovich5 ай бұрын
I'm a beginner, and I would not choose something that short. Longer rods are easier to do wide, sweeping figure 8's. Go with 8' or better. Also, I love my St. Croix as much as anyone, but they are heavier than assault sticks and more expensive.
