Thanks, such solid builds. Out of all builders on YT I’d put you at the top for quality. And your scales always look so amazing, I’m afraid I’m gonna have to attempt to borrow a little from your technique there, its just too irresistible. Again thanks!

@@robertelovsson8344 go for it! Or else i wouldn't put it on video. I'd love to see how it turns out for you.

All that from a block of wood! I would be tempted in the show piece of the video having the cut blocks of wood on the perspex stand's slowly morphing into the end products. The directional scales look amazing, I enjoyed every second of the video especially when we got the chance to meet your beautiful young family, tooooooooo cute for words. BIG THUMB'S UP 👍😷👍

I purchase 3/4” western red cedar, then plane down to the desired thickness. Then, glue up the surfaced-planed wood. Both halves are equal, which aids as a centerline reference.

The mesh netting I've been using seems to be a bit thinner material, and doesn't allow for the shadowing effect you get when you point the brush angled toward the front or back of the bait, to do scales. Also mine is more plastic like where yours is flexible, like it may be a more cotton material. Are you using a specific mesh screen product for painting or is it just something from the local fabric store? Amazing videos by the way!

Hey, I love your work. It looks good. I’m not trying to steal anything from you, but I do a little decoy Carvan on the side and I wanna make a fishing lure, but I’m struggling to find the correct thickness and strength of the bills. I was wondering if you could help me out where do you buy your polycarbonate?
@FrettholdBaits15 күн бұрын
@endofthelinefishingcharters thank you! I buy my polycarbonate from my local custom glass store. Companies that make custom windows and doors, shower walls, etc. usually carry polycarbonate. It's much more expensive if you have them cut it - In fact with their cut fee, it's more expensive for me to buy a half sheet. so I buy full 4'x8' sheets and break them down myself. If you're only looking to make one or two lures they may even give you some scrap peices if they have any.

Thank unfortunately, I don’t have anyone in the area that makes glass and doors so I went down to the Lowe’s and Home Depot looking for polycarbonate sheets however I can only find them flexible and too thin. I found acrylic sheets, but they are too thick.

I bought it from some guy in Europe who unfortunately no longer makes them. I've tried to order more molds. Guess I'll have to make my own.

Where do you get that thick wire from?

My local welding supply store. On jointed baits I wouldn't recommend a marine grade hardened stainless steel which can be bought from McMaster-Carr.
