@@JodaroKujo im a Tooru fan but it'd be pretty difficult to make a moveset for him that fits around his ability without major changes to the point it wouldn't even resemble what he's capable of canonically. He'd make for an interesting stage hazard or secret boss (they'd have to make unique defeat scenarios for every character though since you technically have no way of fighting him).

Finally they added FF into a actual JoJo game, it’s way overdue. Honestly wish we got to see other part 6 characters besides the main cast and antagonist (since I’m sure weather report will be added at some point.) However i geuinely feel like part 4 jotaro should have just been a costume with a slightly different super, it kinda feels like a wasted slot because he has minimal diffrences from part 3 jotaro, could have used that time and rescources to make a whole new character

I assume P4 Jotaro is here specifically *because* he took less time and resources to put in than a whole new character. Like I don't think they had to pick between Jotaro and a totally new character and chose Jotaro, the choice would've been between Jotaro or no character at all. Like Smash Bros and its clone characters. It's still a weird choice, and stings extra hard coming alongside no Part 8, but "wasted slots" aren't really a thing afaict.

@@nathanl8622 I still don't know if that makes P4 Jotaro suck any less though, like at least in smash the characters either play differently, (Lucina not having to worry about tipper means she can be more aggressive than Marth and Ken is so different he honestly shouldn't even be considered an echo of Ryu) or are actually completely different characters (Daisy and Richter are literally the same as Peach and Simon but it would still feel wrong if they didn't have unique voices/animations). It's not like reusing animations/models is anything new in fighting games as a whole, but at least they play differently. An easy example is the Goku-fest that Fighterz is, Base/SSJ/Blue Goku all have the exact same 2M and 2H, among other moves, if memory serves but at least they all play significantly differently. If EoH is representative P4 Jotaro would be better off as a costume with unique dialogue.

Same with Alph, except neither him nor Olimar have voice lines. Most people won't be able to tell the koopalings apart, people CAN tell Peach and Daisy apart.

That's the likely thing, which can be very disappointing too. I get that they may want to simply leave familiar moveset as is...but I think most would rather want to update him rather instead. The original ASB was mainly a fanservice game, so trying to keep the gameplay "feel" is just not necessary for this.

Honestly it feels kind of cheap to count EoH holdovers as "new" characters. Especially considering how many of them are from the first half of the series. As someone who's never played one of these games, I'd gladly give up some Part 3 rep in favor of more characters from parts 7 and 8, which feel kind of neglected.

I think a lot of the roster choices are based on what was most practical. EoH is a very different game than ASB, so even if they already have the assets to work with they still have to put them together into a balanced moveset. That's probably why we got those ho-hum Part 3 reps--Mariah and Pet Shop were already in a 2D fighter, and based off the footage we have they've taken a lot from their Heritage to the Future incarnations. Like I'd definitely take Hot Pants over Mariah and Jobin over Pet Shop but that was probably never on the table from the production side of things.

It's simply too strange that Prosciutto would be in without him, and Part 5 is the only part unaccounted for by these trailers. Just a heads up about that Playstation Store Trailer 53-character roster, notice how Pucci is missing entirely from it despite being already revealed. Not only that, but the small bit of gameplay from him in the new trailer shows that he has a new GHA, meaning that C-Moon Pucci is most likely a separate character just like in Eyes of Heaven. So if you take that into account, and add every character revealed and leaked (Speedwagon, Mariah, Petshop, Adult Jotaro, Yukako, Trish, Prosciutto, F.F., Diego), then that leaves us with only two more unknown characters left. This probably means the final trailer will have 5 characters to reveal, Trish, Prosciutto, C-Moon Pucci, and the two mystery fighters. And I guess the 4 DLC characters, but we'll speculate when we get there.

The discrepancy between these trailer's roster counts and the PlayStation app trailer is likely due to the former trailers being made well ahead of time with the intention of showing off a nice, rounded number of JoJo characters for marketing purposes. This is likely why Baoh isn't on these roster images despite being confirmed for the game in the same trailer. (Either that or they just couldn't be asked to make new roster images for the reveals) There's also the fact that Pucci appears to have been split between his Whitesnake version and his C-Moon/Made In Heaven version like he was in Eyes of Heaven. Not only does all prerelease screenshots of Pucci in battle show him without the 14 Phrases meter above his special meter, but in this very trailer Pucci is seen performing a GHA that he never had in the original ASB. Both of these facts together strongly suggest that the 53 character roster shown in the PlayStation app trailer is indeed the final roster count. As for who the 53rd character would be, I think it's likely going to be Alternate Universe Diego Also, it's been confirmed in an interview that the DLC characters do not count towards the final game's roster count

I believe that the last 3 characters will be Trish, Prosciutto, and Joshu. While the DLC will include more JoJolion characters because Bandai knows that part 8 is not nearly as popular as parts 1-7, so it would make more sense for more JoJolion characters to be held for later on.

I think Wonder of U would be a great character from part 8 to have in the game but would be hard to create the move list on the side of the devs.

Sucks that we wasted a slot on Part 4 Jotaro. Really hope Joshu makes a comeback + hopefully Jobin or Tooru for Part 8 rep. Stroheim and Weather making a comeback from EoH would be cool too but Part 8 needs more love

The One character that I want the most from the Seinen Jojo is Wekapipo, but I doubt he'll be included, even in dlc.

@@soarel325 Magenta might be cool to see, but I don't think he could have a really big moveset since his stand is mostly defensive. From part 8 it could be cool to see Damo Tamaki or Part 8 Kira and from part 7 it would be amazing to have Blackmore (I know it's impossible but it would be awesome).

They should have made it at least 60 characters or even 70 to make room for new part 1, 6, 7, and 8 characters to REALLY make the game feel fresh and new and not just the old game with some of the mechanics ironed out

Foo fighters getting announced is probably the coolest bit of news for this game at least for me, if the last three characters are all from part 5 and we already know about 2 of them I’d reason to bet the last one is abacchio which is great but is it just me or are these character picks so lack luster I can only hope the dlc brings us some new part 8 characters (pls tooru and yashuo but it’ll probably be just joshu) and personally I’d really like to see hot pants and weather report for the other two but man do characters like pet shop and part 4 jotaro just feel like filler

I mean I like Pet Shop, I think he's cool. But yeah most of the new characters just being haul overs from EoH is kinda lame. That being said, the two fully new characters, FF and Prosciutto, are pretty cool, so I hope when they run out of EoH characters we can get more hype stuff.

i really want jojolion characters since there is only josuke... and josuke himself needs a moveset revamp since it was made like a year after jojolion began, so there wasn't much to go off of. at least give him a soft & wet beyond awakening or something

Got so excited to see part 8 Josuke appear at the beginning, then got dissapointed seeing they're not adding Tooru. My best guess as to why Josuke appeared, I guess Baoh is classified as part 8 for some reason? I'm pretty sure it was something like that in the original game, not sure why would they do that though

God please bring literally ANY other part 8 character in other than Joshu. It really sucks he was the only other part 8 character back in the day as it lead people to believe he was Josuke's 'Jobro' which couldn't be farther from the truth, literally nobody likes Joshu, not in real life OR in the manga! Please for the love of god if they add any part 8 characters, please be ANYONE but him!

I think joshu deserves a spot ALONG with another part 8 character. I really liked joshu in shakedown road and all those earlier arcs, the fact he purposely wasnt heroic during wonder of u however did disappoint me. If he had redeemed himself that would of been amazing. But i understand now that araki wanted to make a sort of irredeemable character, something more realistic to the Japanese stereotypes hes based on
