I just realized that Diavolo is the is kind of the opposite of DIO. The Stardust Crusaders knew who DIO was, but not his power. Bruno's team knew about KC for awhile, but not the user's identity other than being the Mafioso. Also there's another ironic chain of events: Diavolo finds the stand arrows, and sells them off after he gains his power. One arrow falls into the right hands of Enya Geil, who gives DIO The World. DIO Has many bastard sons, many of whom have stands, likely due to DIO's own powerful abilities. One of his sons, Haruno Shiobana, went on to have his mother marry an Italian and have his name changed to Giorno Giovanna. Giorno eventually developes his stand, and later, with help of one of Diavolo's Arrows, uses it to vanquish the villain. Today's Lesson: When selling important items, perform background checks.

Uh, yes it does. Some of the instruments chosen as well as some chord progressions give the King Crimson idea, an example being the 2:26 and 3:12 organ(?) segments. That's pure KC. They used an exact sounding organ in some of their songs. Also the 3:34 buildup with the ominous vocals, then the climax 3:38 with the organ/guitar jam.

Easy way to understand King Crimson/Gold Experience Requiem King Crimson deletes the cause, leaving the effect. For example, if he shoots a gun, he deletes the cause of the shoot, but keeps the effect of shooting someone, leaving him still to have the bullet. Gold Experience Requiem is the opposite-- It deletes the effect, while leaving the cause. Thats why Diovolo was left repeating horrible deaths over and over again, because the effect of death never comes, but the cause of it does.

You're 50% right, but 50% wrong too King Crimson deletes the cause first, deleting the effect in the process, because if he shoots a gun during the time he'll erase, the effect of the shooting will disappear too, that's why he doesn't bother attacking during that portion of time he'll erase. Still, erasing time is good for mobility, as he has Epitaph, he can predict his enemies movements, change positions accordingly, erase time, and backstab then efficiently. GER is the opposite, when in defensive mode, he deletes the effect first, deleting the cause in the process, that's why the enemies attempts of attacking is rendered to 0, the cause itself is nullified to 0. When in the offensive however, it works just like you described

I don't know about you guys, but I loved the hell out of Part 5. I know it's a relatively unpopular opinion, but I liked the cast and the fights. The only thing that dissapointed me was the final fight, it seemed more like an afterthought and rather anticlimatic with Requiem. But, I'm not that bothered by it since there's always the anime, that can make absolutely anything more epic :P

Dude I loved all 6 parts ! I am not that fond of the Boss's death though. Not that Diavolo did not deserve to pay for his crimes, but I seriously thought that his sanction was OVERKILL compared to the prior baddies. Hell, DIO and Yoshikage Kira weren't any less cruel (actually even more if I were only speaking about DIO!) and they somehow got away "easy", but The Boss gets the Kenny McCormick treatment ? Everything Pucci did was for DIO. Valentine had his wife. And then there's Diavolo with no one. ThunderVolt Jack The only antagonist that fits this logic is Kars, who indeed got personal when Joseph had Esidisi and Wham killed (otherwise , he would have given a toss about Joseph had they obtained the Red Stone and the perfect condition) But the others ? DIO does genuinely admire Jonathan but he's a Guru with a God complex. Valentine did not really show much concern about Scarlet when she disappeared, he is married to AMERICA (Fuck yeah !) . While Pucci was indeed serving DIO, he also was looking for a way to absolve his guilt over what happened to his sister (ruining countless lives in the process...) But Kira ? Dude, Yoshikage is the EPITOME of self-centeredness ! As long as he can go on with his quiet life and hobby, he does not give a shit about anything really. In contrast , Diavolo, for all his effed up paranoia, only goes against threats to his leadership , he knows full well that too much violence and murders are bad for business. Plus the first time he appears (in shadows), he gives Bruno the chance to get away and forget about Trish, not to mention that he really dislikes the option of calling Cioccolata and Secco. And as Doppio being shredded...even Diavolo participated in the fight against Nero (you can know which one is talking if you pay attention to the eyes !) and puked up blades. Metallica was one haxxed stand !

I would say Diavolo is unpopular for illegitimate reasons.

I think Diavolo is partly considered a bad villain in the fandom due to the horrid scans of Part 5. When you look at it, his role in the plot is very similar to DIO (staying in the shadows for most of the Part, manipulating others then personally appearing at the very end), yet DIO is not trashed by the fandom, despite having vaguer motives than Diavolo (until Part 6 posthumously reveals them). In fact, many early JoJo villains had problems. Dio and Kars were one-dimensional, DIO was super-vague and barely appeared, Kira only appeared in the second half of his Part and had no relation to the plot before. What is a more interesting question is that will the anime version of Vento Aureo give more screen-time/cameos to Diavolo? They did something similar with Kira in this season, as he got cameos and subtle references throughout the first half. While it would be difficult to do the same for Diavolo, perhaps a few cameos of his suit-wearing, shadowy version would be possible.

Gábor Hajdu I think that's because we knew Dio back from part 1 when he actually interacted with the protagonist and we saw what was pretty much his whole life: His loss of a mother, his need for power, his rise to power, and finally, his death. For me, my dislike for Diavolo wasn't because of bad scan quality, it is because of his lack of depth compared to Dio or Pucci. From what I can tell, there was no real motivation for him to go evil outside just being a lunatic sociopath who is obsessed with fate. All we saw of his past were him being raised by a priest, then cutting to straight up killing people and manipulation. Araki really could have done more with him, considering that his aspirations are higher than Kira, who is also a homicidal sociopath, but his potential was wasted.

+Dｅmｏnｉtｅ Part 4 is all about the final battle with Kira. In my opinion, Kira was the only thing that made part 4 so great. The random stands and attacks on Josuke are meh compared with the rest. Part 5 is the complete opposite. The random encounters and the search for Diavolo is the best, but the fight against him is not as good. Personally, as much as I love Kira, Part 5 will always be my top choice, since every enemy and ally was so freaking memorable, and the Fights! Oh the fights.

As an example of how this works, let's just say a drop of water is about of fall off of something and it'll take 10 seconds to reach the ground. When Diavolo erases time, he's essentially getting rid of the 10 second gap it took for the water to reach the ground, and when he gets out of erased time, the drop of water will have already reached the ground. Diavolo can move around during those 10 seconds of erased time and is the only one who can remember the erased time as well, which is why it looks like he's teleporting to the naked eye. Considering King Crimson is as strong as Crazy Diamond, Star Platinum, and The World, this ability, combined with King Crimson's raw power, makes Diavolo very dangerous. Oh, and he can also see into the future for 10 seconds too._.

+peder pan Diavolo basically skips time, which in turn eliminates processes. As in, only the effects take place, and only those that would have happened outside the skipped time. For example, let's say somebody tries shooting Diavolo. Diavolo activates KC, and even if he didn't move an inch, he'd be unscathed. The bullet would just appear behind him, as if it just went through him. tl;dr ver: KC just works.
