Jojo’s rebrand is just that - a rebrand, a PR-directed shift in genre while also trying to act like she’s doing something new and groundbreaking with no regard to the giants whose shoulders she’s trying to stand on. Just look at her response to people saying she stole Karma (which, to be fair, she didn’t). Trying to say she’s inventing a new genre, making a massive shift that no one else in Gen Z has done (which is completely false when you look at people like Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish) because she and her PR team are trying to make other people feel just as strongly as her about this new carefully monitored and groomed shift. It’s annoying and feels disingenuous, like corporate slop.
