@@johngradycole92 I could be wrong, but I just recently saw a breakdown here on YT of the XOMG problems and for at least a good chunk of that time, Jojo was an adult. As someone who loved Dance Moms growing up who watched Jessalyn and Abby's treatment of her in real time, I agree in the one sense that she is the product of all of the abusive adults in her life ... buuut, as someone who also experienced extensive childhood abuse, there often comes a point where you decide that you never want to do to another child what your own parents did to you. Jojo has yet to have that moment and is instead continuing the cycle, despite a LOT of people who have called her out on it. I think everyone talking about this "rebrand" are not acknowledging that Jojo still has the mentality of a 13 year old. She has not been allowed to truly grow up and this is what young teens do when they rebel. She just wants to grow up but is absolutely not in an environment that supports that in a healthy way. The girl needs a metric ton of therapy.
@jamie93648 ай бұрын
THIS. It is very likely, given she is still in the environment and the way she speaks. This is very common for someone her age that has in essence, had their development interupted as a result of her early and continued, adverse experiences. She could continue to go down a very dark, arrogant and narcissistic path and hurt others or if there are buffers in her life ( healthy relationships) as well as her own continued developent ( age and stage, her personality) it can also go in a positive direction.

The funny things about Jojo idolizing Miley's "Can't Be Tamed" growing up phase video are threefold. One, Miley did some sexy shoulder-and-hip writhing with backup dancers but it was tame by today's standards. She eased into the sexier stuff with multiple videos, not one. Two, Miley's look wasn't a grimdark parody of her 'old self' so it didn't feel like she was trying too hard to seem more grown up. Three... it was a good song.

Honestly i dont think her doing bong rips would be nearly as controversial as it was when miley did it, mostly bc after weed has been legalized in so many places its just not seen as a taboo by wider audiences anymore. After bangers nothing any child star does to switch images will have the same impact, it all feels either like not a big deal or like theyre being a cringey try hard. @cagxplays9602 right? Like, I do feel bad for her on the one hand. On the other, she seems perfectly happy to be just like the people who raised her. Then again, what other work is she supposed to do? This is what they made her life into. It's gotta be stressful for her knowing that her two most viable career options are "successful idol" or "unemployed". Lol that is a tall order for anyone.

@hsmorg36408 ай бұрын
You mention it, but.. LET'S NOT FORGET: Jojo Siwa, and her mother, created an abusive set on Dance Pop Revolution. Leigha Sanderson was bleeding from her belly button, and had to get spinal surgery. She was told to keep dancing, "Put a pad on it". This information released recently, and suddenly, coincidentally, Jojo Siwa has her entire cringy, deliberately obtuse, rage bait rebranding. All news has been focused on the rebrand and straying away from the more important issues. Jojo Siwa has also been recently communicating with and supporting controversial and/or criminal personalities such as: Shane Dawson, James Charles, and Colleen Ballinger, to name a few. This rebrand is not important. Also, the idea that Jojo claimed she wrote Karma comes from these couple topics: "Choose Your Fighter" ad-libs, like you mentioned, and I also believe it's obviously not her voice singing it, it's Emeline's I can also distinctly remember a clip of her saying, "When I wrote Karma.." in a quick interview. Lot of people heard this, but can't find the clip anymore, so idk. Some Mandela Effect going on there.
@Amorescafessounds8 ай бұрын
Where does the Mandela effect take part in this? *I had to fix this because a few grannies and grandpa's where too old to understand * What I meant was the Mandela effect doesn't really take part in this as it's more of manipulation than anything. Making people think that Jojo didn't say she wrote karma ,even though she did but the clip was removed from the internet and that manipulates people into thinking they imagined it or got the words wrong. That's why I said "where does it take part ", because it isn't people forgetting but rather thinking they got her words wrong or thought she said something alone those lines
@pianopeach8 ай бұрын
Did you read the whole comment? Hsmorg clearly stated what they thought might be an example of the Mandela Effect before calling it that.

Shows like Dance Moms should legitimately be illegal. It stops parents from viewing their kids as their children and instead see them as "how much money can I make off you while you're still profitable". Like exactly what Jojo's mom says at 23:30, she just sees Jojo as a marketing doll to parade around to make as much money off her as she can before Jojo finally wakes up and leaves this toxic environment

People gave Miley a TON of crap for her rebrand too, cerca 2013 with the Blurred Lines performance and whatnot. It felt forced. "I'm a grownup now, watch me twerk on the Blurred lines guy". It wasn't a cringe as this though and MIley had the talent to make it work.
@casfletcher40767 ай бұрын
@dante6985 I definitely feel like people were giving miley crap, but for way different reasons. Personally, I felt like it was at least authentic, and while definitely giving flying off the rails, it was at least coming from her own artistic expression.
@dante69857 ай бұрын
@@casfletcher4076 Absolutely, that's part of it. I remember the word "forced" being used a lot then too but it didn't seem as manufactured. Plus, at the end of the day, Miley's album (Bangerz) had some great tunes that people responded to (Wrecking Ball, etc) that weren't covers of a song done much better 12 years ago lol.

@@casfletcher4076 My first response was deleted, YT is weird. Yeah agree people thought Miley was forced (like look at me I'm an adult now) but it didn't feel manufactured like Jojo. I said this somewhere else but it rings true. Everyone quotes “JoJO HaVE yOu LEarneD NoTHinG” but I think she learned quite a lot from Abby 💀 And I think people like Brit’s so much more because she conveyed the actual meaning behind the song, the confessional shows someone who is remorseful and has to deal with that guilt in someway. Jojo’s environment doesn’t tell that story, it doesn’t tell any story at most it sounds like someone using their bad behavior as a badge of honor. It has no meaning and doesn’t convey what the song is supposed to say.

Even Jojo's video has no semblance of a story. It's like she's been told to force a smile for so much of her life she doesn't know what vulnerability looks like anymore.
