Hi jojo!!! I am a 72 year old retired farmer from Cedar Rapids. I really enjoy your videos. I'm sorry about your loss. You absolutely do not talk too much. I love listening to you. My wife and I got got married in 1974 (21) and started farming. Both of us grew up on farms. I would have loved having big equipment like you guys. My first tractor was a 3010 diesel John Deere no cab and a JD 45 combine. 2 row 38s. Switched to 30 inch rows in 1979. In 1975 I bought a K Gleaner brand new. It handled a 3 row corn head. Long story short. We had a drought in 1983 and 88. That put us into bankruptcy. You are fortunate to have irrigation. Enjoy your time on the farm 😊. John Olinger

Shutting everything down at the end of the season is my favorite time of year. Forward to Dove, Antelope, Deer, Duck, and Goose hunting. With, of course, equipment maintenance and upgrades in the shop, but a farmers reward for a long, hard summer. Is Winter. A little reward for the mental madness of Summer.

It is always good to get to see the result of effort come to fruition. Even with the weather difficulties, a successful crop. I had a late dry land seed wheat crop that was devistated by ferrel hogs a few days before it fully matured about 10 years ago.

Hi Jojo. Just found your channel today. I'm glad to see you folks folding the auger back on your grain cart unless you are unloading. Only mentioning this because I have read of one farmer who was almost k*lled, and another was electrocuted because the grain cart auger got jammed into three phase power lines along the edge of the field when they forgot about the auger stuck out in the air, as they pulled up along the power line. I think you are doing great at catching grain.
@JojoSnow01 Жыл бұрын
OMG first off, welcome to the channel. Second off, WE WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS THE OTHER DAY! Zack taught me to be very careful around power lines and I asked him what could happen and he told me all about how you could definitely mess up and pass away that way! I couldn’t believe it! So sorry to the families that go through a loss that way I can’t even begin to imagine something so simple can mess you up so bad. I am terrified of things like that and I am constantly asking him what I should be aware of. Especially when I get really tired my brain can’t work as well and he said I need to get into good habits so I instinctively know how to react to a situation. I’m working on not relying on auto steer at the moment because anything can happen!

Take a few weeks during the slow time in the winter to take Jordan some where where you two can just forget the farm and just prioritize on each other. It will strengthen your relationship. Not trying to interfere with your life. Just trying to advise you on what I didn’t do and what I lost.
