The Popcorn interview takes a while to get going & the interviewers style is basic. The middle of it has good content - Joaquin shares how he spent 5 days developing Arthur's character & it was all wrong & he loves the process of getting to that stage. I feel that's genuine. He's an actor, imagine answering some of the questions he & other actors get asked....shoot me now. Is it your dream role? Oh.my.gosh It's like a recruiter asking candidates 'so tell me what is your dream job is?' my dream job is not fucking working. Some people parrot recite basic questions without knowing what it is they want to learn or find out.

Geoffrey Wilson personally I find it the opposite. A close friend who’s very near schizophrenia is an amazing actor and has to literally lose himself in character and eat breathe sleep the character.. and my acting doesn’t come out that way. And I don’t get locked in a happy one or sad one. I can turn on and off the ruse cause I’m very imaginative. My friend, who’s easily manipulated, needs to “method” act because he doesn’t know even his own feelings half of the time and has vices. But I appreciate all artists. Anyone who is brave and puts themself out there for examination and captures the interest of others is doing their art well, and it’s a gift.

Apparently, he’s a pain on set and walked off a couple times but not because he’s an asshole. He just has to feel the character or the scene or he physically can’t do it. But I don’t think that’s him being a prick. That’s him trying to give it his all but if he doesn’t feel it, then he struggles to give 100% and shit if Joaquin needed a month to get into it, I’d give him 3! His performances are so astonishing that if he needs time to give people that, then within reason, give it to him.

Never saw joaquins films until Joker. I was overwhelmed. Watched it back to back. What a powerhouse of talent! Huge resepect. Cant wait for the sequel
@RabbidTribble4 жыл бұрын
I didn't want a sequel before. I do NOW. Joaquin's answer to the question of how Arthur would react to eventually meeting Batman- "He's going to get very excited"- is so perfect, now I really, really want to see Joaquin's interpretation of that. Because the character of Joker IS excited by Batman's existence. He feels that he and Batman are two of a kind, and the only people in the world who can truly understand each other. Soul mates, in their own way. Now just imagine Arthur's Joker meeting Batman and feeling that way about him. All that horrifying loneliness, the sensation of being "left-footed" with the whole world- and then he meets Batman. The emotional impact of Joker seeing something in Batman that he recognizes, someone LIKE HIM, and gaining the strange, intense connection that they share, goes up 1000% because we as viewers have had such an intimate look at how isolated and estranged Arthur felt before. In this way, the Joker movie would add something unique to the story of Batman and Joker. I kind of desperately need to see it, now.
