I like to imagine this Joker is from a classic Elseworld, like 60s styled. Where Batman had Blue and Grey, the Justice League was the classic varient and he's more toward before the Prime Earth style. Hense why he does jokes, is more Linate with authority and most of his classic outfits are based on the 40s Comics. Also subtle hints being his Batman toy in pistol inspections being the Blue and Black mask with the yellow chest symbol.

It´s actually a reference to the DC Titans show on netflix, where Jason get killed by joker with a crowbar and gets reïncarnated as red hood after scarecrow bring him to Ra's Al Ghul's pit. Still, pretty bad reference as many people did not watch the show as it´s basically shite. Edit: fixed a minor spelling mistake and complained about the show

Yes he’s meant to be a disturbing murderer, but he still has some jokes that are funny. Even his joke at the end of the Killing Joke, despite being a dark moment, is a legitimately clever joke. The animated shows had SEVERAL funny moments, especially with Mark Hamill. Even if he’s a criminal, he’s still a campy, over the top performer who can be hilarious. This Joker not being funny is a valid complaint.
