It's baffling to me that Zarbar is only a tad stranger than Joker's actual sidekicks. One time he stole a baby gorilla and killed its mother with joker gas, then trained the baby gorilla to the point where it was not only an efficient do-crimer, but proficient with firearms and parachutes. It then gained cognizance after one of their jobs gone wrong, killed itself out of guilt, and left the Joker depressed for like 5 minutes. Zarbar is only slightly stranger than this.

I had to look him up and yes indeed, ZarBOR (not "ZarBAR") is an existing character. He is the same species of 5th dimensional imp as Bat-Mite and Mr. Mxyzptlk from Superman. Cancer rays are not really a thing they regularly do, but it's almost certainly possible for them since they're practically reality-warping gods. Zarbor only shows up in that one episode of the New Adventures of Batman and surprisingly nowhere else even though he would be far from the weirdest thing in the entirety of the DC Multiverse.

This might be my favorite Solid jj skit. I love Zarbar. I've collected every DC comic he doesn't appear in. Those are the best Zarbar moments. The character is at his best when he's implicit. Honestly, if I was Batman in that situation, I totally would’ve believed it. I mean, the cancer rays seemed like BS, until Robin mentioned Bat-Mite comes with on missions all of the time. I would’ve been like: “No wonder we’ve never shown any symptoms of Cancer! Bat-Mite’s been keeping us alive this whole time!”

Every hero and villain has this. Old James bond, Specter, Superman, Dick Tracy had a wrist radio. Commissioner Gordon, Super Friend with Legion of Doom. They all had private servers with each other. Do you expect them to find out information and planning like a caveman or the rest of us did in the past ??
