Derek Truck’s uncle was the drummer for the Allman Brothers band. Derek is a child prodigy and Susan went to the Berkeley School of Music - our best music school.

I love his solos in this song not always the same until those last 5 notes he plays which signals he’s done. And Susan looking at the others smiling while he plays. Magical band! Love the Alman brother band influence from Derek. Definitely with the guitar sounds and the two drummers. Amazing band! Nice reaction too! ❤

This was written by Mike Matthison, one of the back up singers. I've seen them live four times. Every song is different every time they play it, if that makes sense. Please react to more of TTB. Susan shines on I Pity the Fool and Leavin' Trunk. Others of theirs I really enjoy include Part of Me and Keep on Growing, which is one of their concert standards.

Last time seeing them 6-28-22 fantastic. They were playing songs from 2 of their new recordings I Am the Moon. Three times I've seen them and got Midnight twice. They vary the setlist every time. Go if you can

Excellent band, highly underrated! Derek Trucks and Joe Bonamassa - living giants as blues guitarists. Susan Tedeschi is a fantastic blues singer (but imho not as good as Beth Hart). Did you know that Dereks uncle Butch Truck was a founding member of the "Allman Brothers Band". Derek himself joined the Allmans in 1999 until 2014. Michael Martinez suggested "Samantha Fish" and I would like to support this! If you are interested in Blues, Folk, Southern Rock dominated by slide guitar - than I would highly recommend that you take a look at the Lovell sisters. They call themselves "Larkin Poe". Strange name, isn't it? "Larkin Poe" was the name of the sisters' great-great-great-great-grandfather. And this guy was a cousin of Edgar Allan Poe. There is no bad or mediocre song from these sisters. My gateway drug was "Bleach Blonde Bottle Blues". Go and get it! Talking about female Blues guitarists...Samantha Fish is (as I already said) really worth a look. But you should also take a look at "Ana Popović" a blues singer and guitarist from Serbia. "Object of Obsession" is more bluesy and "You got the Love" is more Blues-Rock. You can't go wrong.

There are many videos of this song being performed at different dates and venues. No two are the same as far as the closing solo; some are merely god like, others soul melting. Everybody’s melter is different.

the look on your face when Derek starts caressing that guitar showed your appreciation of his talents! phenomenal band and an absolute must see given the opportunity. I go way back with the Allman's, and I used to scoff at the notion that this "Punk Kid" could ever over-take Duane, in my eyes..I now have to say, I think he has, Duane's young demise notwithstanding..Two different styles, with an obviously strong connective tissue, but listening to Derek today, it's hard to argue he is not at the very top, right now..Not taking anything from Duane, of course. No telling where he would have been today..I'm sure in another stratosphere..Alas, we'll never know..Meantime, I'm thrilled there is someone like Derek who has picked up the mantle, and ran with it..Beautiful to these aging ears!

Just found you, first time watching you react to this fantastic song, and just added a sub. You asked for more from, so here is my suggestion, their version of the great Derek and the Dominos song Layla. Herr Trucks shows his chops on the slide in that one. Just my 10 cents worth! I'll be watching man! I spent 5 years in Germany, Bayern, Bauernland, and travelled around very much. I was there when the wall came down. I'd love to know your views on that and how it has worked out, though not music related! Rock on Bruder!
