Walked through a BK drive through once, they refused service (we were high af, obviously) so we grabbed a couple grocery carts, tied them together with our belts, used a Frisbee for our steering wheel and had our friends push us through. The manager laughed so hard we got the burgers they were throwing out... over a dozen burgers,5 chicken sandwiches, and about 4 lbs of fries later we pushed our friends home in the "cart car we made"

I worked at Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips on Long Island when I was in college in 1980. Some cheapskates would come in and order a large helping of “cracklings” which were the pieces of fried batter that broke off the food in the fryer as well as a large seltzer. All that was free. And sometimes they would complain too. I was making $2.65 per hour then. Only good thing about that job was a girl I worked with. We have been married now for 40 years. The alligator story was partially true. lol The guy who did it: Josh James. His mom Linda claimed it was a prank. WTH Claimed he knew someone who worked there. The police figured out who he was from a receipt and had him turn himself in. After James pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges, the judge came down hard on James because "this type of thing is not a prank. It's a crime." He sentenced James to one year of probation, a $500 fine and 75 hours of community service and denied a defense request to keep the convictions off James' record. James also is under orders to keep away from Wendy's.

That really is a thing. McDs made a deal with the ice cream maker co. There is a thing in it that says when it's supposed to be cleaned, but it has to wait so long after, but they don't wait and it screws up the machine so they have to have a repairman from that co. fix it. It isn't in the instructions so they keep doing it (so the co. gets more money from service calls). McDs is the only one that has that machine. The managers just get tired of calling it in. (I heard it from this guy on You Tube who investigates all sorts of corporate , political scandals and stuff.) Evidently Every McDonalds has it. I love ice cream when travelling. I learned never to leave work in your work uniform when I was accosted in my peppermint striped smock by someone who mistook me for an employee of the big hotel around the corner. They demanded directions somewhere--I had only lived there less than a week, so when I said I'm sorry, but I do not know, they told me they would go to the front desk and have me fired. I was just in there because they had good air conditioning and the bench by the elevators was a good place to read my book. BTW, what hotel has people uniformed in peppermint striped smocks? I worked at the candy store just around the corner.

@@Elhastezy888or good people like you, it’s probably hard to believe, but a large number of the hospitality industry’s customers behave this way. I worked for 27 years in restaurants, mostly fine dining, I even took/ passed the Sommelier exam; I was condescended to, insulted and disrespected by my rich customers regularly. It seems the majority of the rich believe they are entitled to this behavior. On my part, I was of course hurt then, upset… you couldn’t say anything because you would lose your job( it’s still like that for waiters everywhere). In 2019, and this is only one example, I was fired at 10pm on the spot, escorted off the premises of a prestigious hotel in Chicago, after having worked there for 3.5 years, having the most seniority. The reason? Two customers by the door, black ladies, were looking at the chocolate display in my restaurant. I was working alone, had 28 customers I was taking care of, who arrived all in the same time from the theater. And, as per the hotel’s refusal to hire us a busboy or dishwasher, I was by myself, with 28 customers. However, I answered all the questions of the two ladies, about the chocolates: where are they made? Do we have some dairy- free? How much? When I said the price, they shrugged, $3.50 a chocolate, half inch, it’s expensive,of course. They kept telling me they are not buying, just looking. I told them I’d be there if they needed anything. They said repeatedly, don’t worry, we’re just looking. Ok. I was running around taking care of my 28 customers. At some point, the two ladies asked me which chocolate was good. Sweat was dripping from my forehead, my breath short from running, and I was running not because I wasn’t able to handle 28 people, because I am a professional, but since the hotel wouldn’t hire any staff, and ignored our requests to buy wine glasses, I was running constantly in the back to wash the 6-7 glasses we had and cool them with paper towels and run to serve wine in them. So, I look at these ladies, who reassured me they didn’t want to buy any chocolates, but are now asking me which one was good. I told them they’re all good. They really are, simple as that, these are gourmet chocolates. Their names alone: Champagne Raspberry, Caramel Truffle…these arrived in special, temperature controlled boxes, were high quality. At that, the younger one, in her late 30s, laughed and said that they can’t be all good. I looked at her. I said: It’s ok, you’re not buying any. And I had to run. They left, went to the front desk, complained about me, and the security officer, who was a friend, had to escort me right out. I felt like my heart was crushed. How was I wrong?
@chelsmaria Жыл бұрын
@camicocis-vk4wv you probably weren't wrong. Given the strong reaction despite all the context and your seniority, I have to wonder if they "pulled the race card." Because businesses don't want the slightest perception of this, even when it's not happening, they often give a severe response to distance themselves from that perception.

to the comedian with the Long John Silver crumbs joke FYI my 1st job , we made them on purpose , they used to be free in 1977, but now there is a fee because the customers enjoyed them so much and they used so much of the batter to do so it was inevitable that it would eventually be a change attached , so the answer in your joke is spot on !!! just saying !
