10+ things to declutter on this spring cleaning and why

Hello everyone! The spring is lagging in Luxembourg, but I am into a spring cleaning mood anyway. And precisely into the deep inspection of the drawers and the boxes - haunting unnecessary or expired belongings is much more exiting for me than the cobwebs. So this is exactly what I was doing lately - collecting unflattering closet finds, phantasy purchases or empty packaging and gathered all into this pile of useless stuff. Check it out what I found and if you are also on spring cleaning mood maybe this video will give you few decluttering ideas and where to look for them.

I always feel good after a good clearance of unneeded and unnecessary things. I end up with quite a large bagful for the charity shop every time. It's relaxing to see someone else doing it. Lovely to see your beautiful cat, too. Thanks Jolita.

Thank you so much for a gentle, common sense decluttering video. I have found decluttering can get a bit aggressive. I even considered a 10 item wardrobe. Then a week of weather contained 40-78 degrees temperature, wind, and rain. In just one week!!! So I decided to listen to nature and I have what I need. Your house seems so calm. Not empty or sterile, just restful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing this in such a kind way.

My husband collects key chains and I collect magnets and we always buy one for each other. They have a special box. I loved this video. This is the stuff we have to declutter every month or so and no one ever talks about it. ❤

Jolita, I love your grey hair! I, too, went grey a few years a go and found that certain shades of grey looked awful on me. Here's my theory. My grey hair is similar to yours. We aren't white, just a darker grey that almost matches the colors that don't look good. Charcoal grey looks better, but not great. I envy my white-haired friends! So, I look for pastels and I try to wear some makeup everyday, especially blush and lipstick or lip balm. Oh, and your short pixie is wonderful!

your hair looks amazing! I too let my natural silver come through about a decade ago and learned that most of my old clothes didn't work with my new hair! it's a process to figure out what works best but so worth it because going natural and not dyeing your hair anymore is so freeing!

Hi Jolita. Lovely catching up with you again. Lolita, I feel grey does still sui those of us with silver tresses. It just needs to be the right shade. May I suggest a Charcoal grey as being a flattering shade. Also adding a blue shade, such as a scarf, works beautifully with the Charcoal. I have fair skin and blue eyes, so a similar colouring. I have moved from Hungary to Germany and it has been raining almost NONSTOP in Bavaria, I am sooo sooo soooo tired of it! THis last week was the first since March where we had 4 days above 20 degrees and some sun. But still not a whole week. My German colleagues keep telling me that this is not the typical spring, that they also are bored of the rain now and last year it wasn't like this....I sure hope this will not be every spring, because I will be so depressed about it then... Bcs of the move, I have decluttered so much stuff, mostly clothes which I wanted to sell but never got around to it, but I was also so bummed to lose the money I have invested in them. But it was so much stuff accumulated in the last 15 years, that in the end, to spare myself more hassle, I just donated it all. I am hoping I can either get rid of stuff easier from now on, or not even buy them at all, but unfortunately I will never be the capsule wardrobe type. :( Hope you guys have some nice summer plans to travel around! :)

Great video! Do you have one of what you are storing inside your kitchen cabinet? Where you took out the folder with your warranties? I would like to know because I am curious what else is smart to keep nearby the kitchen. For now we are keeping warranties and manuals for kitchen equipment a bit here and there. Some are in a kitchen drawer, some are thrown away, some are... I don't even know. Would be nice to get some inspiration for storing things like these :)
