We traditionally squeeze lime on the noodle dish (palabok), but I think that they provide lemon pockets in the US. By the way, palabok is cooked in shrimp broth and the sauce itself is made with shrimp extract, that explains the seafood taste. It's not for everyone.

I suggest that you try authentic Filipino cuisine like chicken adobo, lumpia, beef caldereta, pork sisig and beef sinigang. also Filipino snacks, beverages and desserts. trust me its good. trivia about the palabok: Pancit Palabok is a delicious Filipino noodle dish topped with shrimp gravy, shrimp, smoked fish flakes, pork cracklings, and eggs. Traditionally, a palabok sauce is made with shrimp stock, some pork broth, ground pork, and brightly hued from annatto (ahuete/atsuete) seeds. Much like a ragu, but without the tomatoes, the sauce has a base of onions or shallot and garlic.

The reason why the spaghetti of Jollibee is sweet, it is because it is 'KIDS SPEGHETTI'. Growing up as a kid during 90's, the only fast food that we had in the Philippines is Jollibee and Tropical Hut, there's no McDonald's at that time. When I was a kid, I really love spaghetti of Jollibee because it is sweet. Nothing more nothing less. Childhood memories kick-in.

The Palabok is composed of thin rice noodles. The sauce is made from garlic and shrimp. The crunchy part is crushed chicharon. The adobo rice is made out of adobo (which is soy sauce, vinegar, LOTS of garlic, peppercorns and bay leaves. You can use any meat. Chichen, pork, squid to your liking. Its marinated overnight and then stewed until the marinade reduced.) I never liked their yum burger, any of their yum burger. My favourite is their chicken sandwich and the aloha burger. YUM!!! And my favourite dessert is the peach mango pie. The choco pie is seasonal so whenever it's available, I always get 3 boxes of 3 pieces.
