When most people talk about the true meaning of happiness, they might be talking about how they feel in the present moment or referring to a more general sense of how they feel about life in general.
@rhea32345 ай бұрын
At its core,"jolly" refers to a state of being full of high spirits, characterized by happiness, mirth, and a general sense of well-being. It is often associated with laughter, cheerfulness, and a positive outlook on life. When someone is jolly, they radiate a contagious sense of joy, bringing smiles to the faces of those around them.❤😊🙂

Eat,drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.I agree with this phrase because even we can believe the death is not the end , right now , we stay here and better that we try to enjoy the life because nothing is sure about our possible beliefs about if we are eternal or not,who knows...but of course,I respect that you don't agree with that saying

Hi!
@eugenebar66468 ай бұрын
Hi. Am I to understand that the word "gay" was used to describe a kind of a temporary feeling rather than a permanent one. For instance I could say like: I feel(am feeling) rather gay and cheerful this morning, having received such brilliant news. Or could I also use that word for a permanent statements like being happy or gay, for example: He is usually so gay and reckless, you simply cannot raly on him. And the last one: what are precise synonyms for the word "gay" we can use today? Seems like cheerful and happy, and joyful do not convey quite the same meaning and they cannot substitute "gay" in all senses. For me being or feeling gay meant to be carefreely and recklessly joyful and cheerful along with expressing and showing that mood and emotions to others people. So in this case I gather the word "jovial" probably could be a decent alternative. Am I right? If not, please, correct me.
@TeacherMikeEnglish8 ай бұрын
1. I'm not an expert on all aspects of the history of this word, but I believe you could use it for both temporary and permanent characteristics.
@TeacherMikeEnglish8 ай бұрын
2. I think the best way to accurately express the same idea is to say "joyful and carefree".

Teacher, Is there any different between be seated and have a seat I was taught be seated is used when I'm seated and I leave my seat to offer someone in that case that guy say be seated. is is true teacher teacher
@TeacherMikeEnglish10 ай бұрын
I don't fully understand your explanation, but I don't think it's true. If you say "Please be seated," or "Please have a seat," to someone, those both mean the same thing.
