Top 10 Rare Titles in FFXIV (And How to Get Them!)

Today we're looking at some of the rarest titles and attached achievements in the game. These aren't the definitive rarest, but a mix of rare and prestigious titles that people would actually like to have. Percentages are of all characters registered on Lalachievements, about 160.000. The actual percentages are probably lower, considering the average Lalachievements user is likely more hardcore than a lot of players.

I have a very rare title called FRC 2018 Finalist. Which was earned by competing and qualifying in a Feast PvP tournament, where I got to play on the main stage of fanfest in front of thousands of people. I got a free trip to Paris Fanfest, the title, and the cloud hair for doing so, only 20 exist, and will ever exist in EU and only 50 or so worldwide. I have had it on 99% of the time since I got it and it reminds me of a really fun and unique experience.

You’re a lucky one. I was in the PvP tournament at Frankfurt in 2017 (on stage and everything) and all we got was a piece of card with “feast tournament” and a cat hat in game. No title and free trip for us. Guess they didn’t care as much back then. Haha.

@@IvoryLie I actually have that card as well haha. I didn't go to Frankfurt but a person on my team for Paris fanfest did. He very kindly sent me a Feast Champion T-Shirt and put that card in and signed the back which is now on one of my shelves. And yeah that sucks that's all you guys got. They sort of did the same with the CCRC tournament that took place at the fanfests just gone. They got to bring a +1 to the event, got put in a really nice hotel with a room each where as we had to share rooms with teammates in a budget hotel (where I was with a sleep talking german) a huge cash prize where as the winners in paris got alienware laptops plus they could bring their own equipment where as we had to use alienware peripherals which didn't work properly and caused a lot of deaths/missed kills for everyone involved. Doesn't bother me much though, the experience was amazing and I hope they keep doing them at fanfests. Gives PvP some good exposure which it desperately needs at the moment!

I'm one of the few players with High Roller. The only thing that makes the title truly rare is the 1 million from Jumbo Cactpot requirement. I started playing in 2015 when Heavensward released, and all the other requirements for the achievement I reckon I probably had knocked out in the first couple years of playing. But I only finished the Jumbo Cactpot achievement in January of 2021, nearly 6 years after starting the game. With normal luck, you'll average about 5k from the Jumbo Cactpot every week, including the weeks where you win 4th prize (about 30% of the time). So if you play every week, it will take you roughly 4 years to hit the 1 mil, assuming you don't get lucky and hit 1st prize or 2nd prize multiple times. It took me a bit longer because I didn't play perfectly consistently, and also initially you were only allowed 1 ticket per week instead of 3, and the consolation payouts were lower. It's a rare title but imo not an especially impressive one like Necromancer because you don't really have to be especially good at the game or dedicated to get it. And people who get 1st place on Jumbo basically just bypass the hardest part of the achievement.

Well ... there's something to be said about perseverance. Necromancer title requires skill and is tedious, not trying to downplay it one bit. But High Roller requires an incredible amount of perseverance. Wear it proud

While it may also not be as prestigious as the Necromancer, I have kept my “Of the Sixth Sense” title on ever since I got it since only 1.4% have it. Apparently accidentally stepping on 100 accursed hoards with no pomander of intuition seemed like a goofy/rare enough task.

I was one of the 1st people getting the fisher "big fish" title for collecting all the big fish last summer. Man... the grind was so fun and awful at the same time. I missed server 1st by couple days😭

Big Fish is way more impressive than World-Class Troller, honestly. Big Fish takes luck AND time, whereas Troller only takes time, and not even that much of it if you do it regularly. I have friends who have been trying for Ruby Dragon for at least a year with no luck.

I'm getting close. The Mega Jackpot is what's killing me. I'm averaging 5-10K per week on that one, and I've been running it weekly for over a year. I'm at like 400 K won on that. Got the Jockey, the first across titles, the Triple triad, and the mini jackpot million mgp won, the gates, and 8/10 on the wind blows event. Just need more luck on the damn weekly jackpots.

I have all achievements except the Chocobo Racing one. I have had the Jumbo Cactpot one for years, as I have only missed 7 Jumbo Cactpot draws since the week Gold Saucer was released in 2014 (5 of the 7 times are during the last year). My goal is to win the 1sr prize in Jumbo Cactpot. Sometime I must resume Chocobo Racing.

Correction about "High Roller": the 100 Triple Triad tournament match wins you need are NOT from the small tournaments that you can do every 2 hours. Instead you need to get those 100 wins from the bi-weekly Triple Triad tournaments. That may sound daunting, but since you can just play your matches against easy NPCs, it doesn't take that much time/effort to get the wins. You can only do 20 maches per tournament though, so you'll need to participate in them 5 times.

Yes, this is correct. Open Tournament is different from the real Tournaments. Only the second count for the High Roller related achievement.

Also, the "win 1000 TT matches" is not just normal matches, it's "win 1000 TT ROULETTE matches" as in matches with the roulette rule applied. The roulette rule applies a random rule to the game, like plus, same, reverse, chaos, etc. So it does make winning a little trickier, but still not so hard since there are NPCs in the game with roulette rules that don't have very strong decks. But still, it's more difficult than simply winning 1000 matches against whoever.

@@jackcarlson4358 The Roulette specification makes it harder to get only because it means it's hard to get without specifically grinding for it. You aren't ever going to get the achievement just by doing a bunch of general TT stuff (tournaments, open tournaments, card collecting, etc), you're pretty much required to find a Roulette NPC you can beat easily and mercilessly grind the matches out.

@@Zanador I got to about 800 wins without specifically grinding for it, but I had been playing since 2.0 and doing stuff like tournaments and trying to collect every TT card all those years. Once I was close to getting the jumbo cactpot million, I went ahead and did the grind for the last 200 wins I needed. Didn't take THAT long but it was pretty tedious.

The percentages on FFXIV Collect are skewed and only really useful for seeing the rarity in relation to eachother. Actual percentages are inaccurate. The database of players the site uses to calculate % ownership are the players signed up to the site (roughly 50k members). Of course people who sign up to the site are naturally more interested and competitive about collecting mounts/titles than the average joe. When you see a title is owned by 0.5% of players, in reality its probably more like >0.1% owned.

Last I checked, Lala didn't count unobtainable achievements when calculating someones total points. Whereas Collect does and is a more accurate total achievement points to those looking to compare player totals. So it has it's advantages. For the record, I think not counting someones hard work and dedication only because you cannot get it anymore is a pretty bad decision. If they've changed it, great, but it was because of that I never really liked using Lala.

Current title I run that's fairly rare and grindy is The Emblazoned. You need the Sun's of Bozja achievement, getting all Zadnor Rays to 10, requiring 600,000,000 mettle and took me about 110 hours

The Hidden Canals of Uznair title is a truly heinous grind. RNG upon RNG upon RNG. I'm fairly certain it's the most time consuming achievement in the game by far, just because the success rates are so low.

I"m getting close to the Casino title now, and feel special since you mentioned it. My Rarest Title is "Saint of the Firmament" by far. Only 330 people per world on average have this title. It was a limited event. ON the Casino . I've got the Jockey and "first across" titles, the 1000000 MGP on Mini Jackpot cards, and 500K on Mega Jackpot lotto. I've got the 1000 wins on triple triad, and 200 of the 312 cards. I've done the Gates requirement, and probably just need more jackpot luck on the weekly's to get through.

@@zoruasnivy You didn't have to have no life to get that one in crafting. But in Gathering, you'd better have no job. I spoke with a gathering saint who put 90 hours in over 9-10 days to win her slot in the contest. She made over 50 million gill from the gathered materials, and scored 1 million points. I got 300K in Leather working in just over 30 hours. I was being reasonable and just doing 3-4 hours a night. Saint of the Firmament is not only a title. It is a lifestyle, a play style, and a character development choice. This contest was designed to seperate the good and 'sort of' dedicated crafters from the true MASTERS. The players who craft 3 hours a day regularly BEFORE any contest because the LIKE it! I was just such a freak. Out of the 4 hours I played every day, I was crafting at least half of it anyways, so the contest was just a switch in WHAT I was crafting.

I grinded for at least two hours every day as a botanist during that event, and still only placed 40-ish. It was awful but I am glad I got my title, even if it wasn't so prestigious as the saint one.

There were also many people on my server who went for top 10 more than once despite already having the title, just because they could. Crafting on the other hand looks like it would've been doable but it's not for pushovers

Just a quick correction: the triple triad tournaments start every 2 hours, but each one is available for 30 minutes. If you finish your tournament before 30 mins is up (which is not hard), you can actually re-enter the same tournament time. So you can actually complete 3-4 tournaments every 2 hours with this method.

In my experience each tournament takes 11 minutes to complete meaning I can do 3 rounds and be a handful of minutes over the time for a 4th

Yes, except that those are Open Tournaments which don't actually count for the achievement. The achievement requires winning 100 matches in *normal* tournaments, the ones that happen bi-weekly and you can only play 20 matches in. Assuming you participate in every tournament and win every match (by playing against an easy NPC in the Battlehall), the minimum amount of time to complete that achievement is 10 weeks. Although each tournament doesn't take very long to do so that actual time investment isn't much.

Don't forget "The Fortunate" where you have to complete 10,000 fates for the title. It's a bit insane to do that many fates.

people simply didnt run PoTD as much and attack potencies were way different. Looking at the level 60 kit for machinist in endwalker vs lvl 60 machinist in heavensward is night and day. Definitely alot "easier" (still hard as fuck) to get the achievement nowadays with all the increased potencies. (And sustaining potions, if i remember correctly those werent a thing before stormblood)

To add to Hand of Creation, the rarest title you can obtain in the Firmament is Castle in the Sky. This requires you to get 500k as both crafters AND gatherers in Skybuilder Points. Mahjong Master title is rather common in Asian servers, but rarer on Western Servers from my experience. But still difficult to get nonetheless. Actually the rarest BLU title is the Blue Ranger as it requires you to complete all available dungeons, trials and EX as a full BLU team. Azure and Omega is rare but it's quite funny that it's less rarer than Masked of the Round (Defeat Thordan EX as BLU Sync Min Il). Necromancer and Lone Hero is more common due to explosion of new players coming into the game. Difficult but not as intense as it used to be.

Also adding on to this, since it's no longer accessible, Saint of the Firmament is one of the rarest titles simply because the total number of players who possess it number only a few thousand, IIRC.

Nah even on JP servers, Mahjong Master is easily still a top 50/top 40 rare title. It doesn't place much lower than it does on western servers.

@@eternaljoker99 Saint was given to the top 12 of each of the 11 crafter/gather class in each of the three ranking periods, per server. So it belongs to a max of 396 characters per server (among the 68 servers that were up during Shadowbringers), although some people ranked multiple times on the same character. So there are potentially up to 26,928 players with Saint, but I'm guessing the real number is closer to 20-25k. Not that rare, but it'll become rarer as the game goes on.

Blue mages are not locked to playing with blue mages. They're locked out of duty finder, and the achievements require your party be only blue mages. But there's nothing preventing you from running a mixed group, you just won't get the achievements that way.

Mahjong is really fun, but I will say that Doman Mahjong is the wonkiest online mahjong I play. It really does seem like certain random players just have an exponentially higher luck modifier. I mean where they will closed Tsumo into triple concealed pon or a large straight- which is absolutely insane luck. So you are going to have to play a lot of perfect games to always finish 1st and 2nd to keep your rating from being wiped out after one bad deal in

High Roller was even harder back in the day because Triple triad NPCs were broken they had more cards available and they could read your cards they still can. Also it's 1000 roulettes TT matches not TT matches and they were some bad roulette combos. TT tournament matches are fairly easy because you can fight NPCs and they count towards it. As for the Jumbo Cactpot I got all 4 numbers right in the wrong order 3 different times I hate that thing

Chocobo Races - if you focus on breeding as you race, a grade 9 perfect chocobo will get you through the races in ~1:15. The races take 3 minutes for entry level chocobos. Just breed them. Definitly worth breeding if you're going for the title. I got my grade 9, perfect stat chocobo bred by the time I won about 220 races, out of 500 participated. My chocobo is pretty well optimized and I win about 2 of every 3 races. Get 1k gold saucer points with each race. 30 seconds max queue time, and 1:15 race time, so basically 30+ races an hour if you're going back to back with a grade 9. Also, the race chocobo barding is the best looking barding in the game imo. Very slick. And the chocobo hat kicks ass. Its dyable now too.

I'm new to the game and community. First thing I did was check titles. Most of it was gibberish at the time, butbi knew I could get WHM, BLM, and SCH/SMN to level 50 for the Archmage title. Now that I know a bit, some of those titles blow my mind. That's some real grinding. That said, considering going for all the BLU related titles. Seems like a grind that wouldn't be horrible

I like to use a variation of some of the rare'ish titles, notably 'Saint of the Firmament', 'Battleforged' and Master Botanist depending on my mood. Tbh though even though I'm most proud of my s4 Botany Saint ranking, the most mind numbing grind I've done is Veteran Jockey. 3000 chocobo races, wins not even needed. It's something I never want to do again ever. Anyone else who has the title gets my respect... and my sympathies. Ugh.

High Roller mistakes: 1000 Roulette matches. Just has to be a TT game with any NPC who has roulette rule running. Tournament can be the 20 tourney weekly matches too, so naturally this happens as you are collecting all the cards, doing 20 NPC tourney matches each week takes a few minutes.

Mahjong one requires not just skill but also a lot of luck. I can't tell you how many matches I end up in where I finish in 3rd place and lose 20 points off my ranking because people just tsumo really quickly and I end up in third place.

You can get them in Stormblood quite often, but I think it's the combination of needing the drop and the low chance of making it to the last room with the same group

You can do both the Gazelleskin maps and the thief maps solo as Bluemage, which is slower than with a full group, but if you don't have 7 other people crazy enough to go for that title, it's something. Still, I'm going for the Invoker of gods title, and among 180 gazelleskin maps so far, I got 3 of the 20 final invocations, 24 thief maps, and 0 full hidden canal clears. If you are intent on doing that title, and solo, be prepared to run thousands, if not tens of thousands of maps. Unless you really are what the title alludes to.

For the gold saucer achievement and the tt tournaments you can queue for more than 1 turnament during each tournament window. So it doesnt take quite as long as you stated. Anyway great vid man.

Mahjong master is doable in just one evening if you have three friends that are familiar with the game basics (or ready to learn) and are willing to hit the queue button with you. Seriously, there are like 20 active players on Chaos DC that you see at least once a week and everyone else starts ranked game once chasing free MGP in the challenge log and then abandons it for good because of overcomplicated rules. Queues take up to 1 hour of seeing 1/4 in your quest bar (which means there might be no one queueing up with you for THAT long). Just grab three buddies to feed you all the tiles you need for that tasty baiman or whatever and boost your rank to 2k in no time. Then ask them to reset it to 1500 if needed and help them the same way. As for me: I only got the orchestrion roll for hitting 1.6k rating the regular, fair way after two months of struggle and ragequit this rng fest that feeds you with completely unplayable loadings while giving others double riichi with tenpai before the first discard and all possible doras over and over again. Games where your victory is mostly determined by luck or cooperation with your rivals in rigged matches are not for me.

think i've seen this in the past, & probably already put me own comments somewhere, but here's latest update from me own: - Ishgard chieves nowadays is just mere tedious tasks, especially now that one can just macro on DoHs with each only take about 8-10 hours to reach 500k points. The devils of the grinds is actually DoLs, specifically MIN & BOT, coz they're beyond tediousness, but also highly preferable to do before grinding DoHs since just from these 2 DoLs will get one more than enough mats for all DoH parts, assuming one did balance the farm amounts as not to get one too excessive & the other too lacking. Mine actually done FSH the very last, coz well... personally despise FSH, & it's still another tedious grinds, just probably not as much as MIN/BOT, tho there's alot of RNGs involved as usual with this DoL. Also, partly due to me wanna get the other 100 umbral fish farms as well, which is done around me getting around 400k points. - For hunt chieves, since we do have DC travels, getting all of them became super fast, ofc... factoring the travel delays especially when super packed during high seasons. & there's also that rare time where one get locked in a server & unable to return to home server, which is utter sucks. 😅 - Finally, for that 20x thief map clears, there's been rumours of ppl paying to get this particular chieves due to insanely amount of RNG it involves. But one thing personally learned is that: no matter which door one picks, they all actually have chances to either get passed, trolled 1st, or kicked out. Unfortunately with thief maps, probabilities multiplies by alot & in the worse direction, hence the terrible RNGs. Regardless... enjoy the game & have fun! ;)

I though I would see big fish title here, which is another god forsaken grind. Which requires all big fish from ARR to ShB. With rng involved to catch the fish + rng weather conditions and being online at the time in game to get all of these fish it the more know title among fishermen. An example for fisher would be cinder surprise which sometimes has a respawn time of over 25 days in real life.

There is different kinds of tournaments. There is open tournaments that are only a few matches and is over quickly, and then there is the cup tournaments that require 20 tournament matches completed and last a week i think or two i think.

@@TheAuron32 as warrior you can pretty much stand and throw down with any mob you encounter, but the problem is the time. It takes a really long time to kill things at 181+ and while you don't need to kite and such like most dps do, you also don't kill them anywhere near as fast. It's an interesting dynamic that each role differs in I suppose.

@@StayNightMH MCH is the highest DPS that can reliable kite, you don't have a self heal though, so you need to pull one mob at a time and mistakes are felt HARD. RDM can self heal but has (might be HAD now with EW changes) less overall DPS so you hit the time problem more. i do love how vastly different you have to play each job here, its an entirely different game and hearing how different people prefer to tackle this place is very interesting to me.
