@jackthompson25822 ай бұрын
just to say, you still get the average times wrong in these videos. for a 1/100 drop chance the average amount of runs to get it to drop isnt 100, its about 69. getting it at 100 is unlucky, getting it at 69 is *average* luck. so at 6:40 when you said its a 950 hour farm, thats 3 minutes * 19,000. what you should actually be doing is 3 minutes * 13169 (you do a log calculation with a base of (1-(1/19000)) and a final answer of 0.5 (for 50% chance) and you get 13169.449...) to get 658 hours on average. Still insane but a lot less. it's a nitpick im aware but a lot of your channel is based on farming and loot and it always bothers me that you dont do odds calculations correctly. Its really simply honestly, you can always just do 69% of the odds (69% of 19000 is 13110 which is really close - use 68.97 for better accuracy but you can see how 69 is very accurate). Currently you always assume that to get the result you want takes that number of attempts. Thats like saying the average number of dice rolls to get a 6 is 6 rolls, when that mathematically just isnt true, and I'd appreciate it if in future you could be a little more accurate with it - especially for a documentary/report type video such as this. It's clear you put a lot of respect into these videos, so a small error like this feels like it shouldnt slip through the gaps Im a long time viewer and I think i've commented something similar before, I love your content and watch basically every video, so please don't think I just want to hate

@@verdibyrdyou gotta catch said shiny (legendary) as well. Which sometimes can be equally frustrating. Happened to me more than once that I killed it with a critical hit. And this is only applicable with legendarys. Hunting for shiny Pokémon that spawn randomly is a completely different story. Hunting for shiny Pokémon that are super rare and spawn randomly is absolutely brutal. Feebas comes to mind, it was difficult enough getting the normal version. 1 in 19000 is wild, but what really kills the fun is when you do the maths and realize, that after 950h (or 19000 runs if you prefer) you only have about ~63% probability overall of getting at least one in the entire attempt. Getting at least one hit in 2690 runs only happens in ~13.2% attempts (which means in 15 people trying 2690 times only 2 are expected to get one).

No uniques or purples are worth using in 3, unlike 2, where your inventory is full of blue, orange, pueple, sometimes pink. Maybe a rainbow item. Its really weird that they added rainbow gear to 2 in a DLC linking it to 3, just to not have them in 3!

I remember the true pearlescent weapons in Borderlands before they were officially added. Legendaries came in an orange colour pallet, with 3 shades. Darker was the better version (usually higher stats). But sometimes, they were tuned so high that the game couldn't categorise them, and they went full circle all the way back to white. Those were the items dubbed pearlescent before they added the general Knoxx DLC.

I'll never forget the time my cousin and I were farming boxes for Eridian weapons in split screen at a sleepover, and he got a common machine Pistol with CRAZY stats that was above his sledges shotgun. He got all excited and told me his friend at school told him about it, "Pearlescent" rarity, lol. even though the chances are lower for finding it in chests, i would think that overall you'd get it much faster because you're rolling those chances many more times in a timespan than doing Craw. Craw only drops so much loot, but the armory has a lot more, especially if you bug the timer so you have unlimited time to check every chest.

Out of all the chests I've opened, out of all the time I've killed Crawmerax, I have NEVER seen a pearlescent item drop. Finally resorted to a save editor.

I remember trying to farm pearlescent weapons back when the DLC came out. You're basically trying to win the lottery.

That is an extremely rare drop, congratulations! It's not world's first, if we include the OG non-remaster version. A friend of mine is looking up old screenshots, maybe he still got his drop photo. Regardless, it's a tremendous find! Be sure to use that thing on Mordecai!

Imagine someone gets this on their first playthrough and has no idea they picked up the rarest item in the game.

Mad props to the guy for finding it. As someone who's done "set" farms in the past in games (Holy Grail in D2 *cough*), the joy of getting the rare stuff is so awesome. And Seeing BL1 again brings back memories that I might have to play it again.

It’s always funny because this is the first recorded. A few people have actually got one but haven’t mention anything on it not thinking about it
