His auto-shock is only on enemies that maya cannot phaselock, and I believe there are a few exceptions (like certain big bosses). I kinda understand that they didn't want him flying after buzzards, but it is so sad watching him just zap threshers

The BFF final skill gives him a copy of your shield. Not much but something.

@@wavern1030 Not much? Put on some strong roid shield and that's some insane damage on anything that he hits with melee skills, provided you slag it. The only problems deathtrap are related to his AI, he has some of the worst in the game and his inability to hit 90% of bosses with melee is just the cherry on top that completely cripples him in most scenarios. As it stands, he's just a glorified meat shield for anything he can't melee.

Deathtrap was much more useful earlier around launch. After scaling and things were rebalanced for UVHM release, Deathtrap is completely useless halfway through TVHM outside a few builds. But he becomes completely useless in UVHM with basically any build.

For One Two Boom, Gaige would have to use the starter pistol to detonate Deathtrap's electric orb for about the equivalent damage of roughly 8 seconds of melee attacks over a large AoE. I don't think enemy guns or barrel explosions can detonate the orb. It has to be activated by friendly projectile fire.

It's called "pony up", as a person who used to play this game religiously, as a gaige main, it would add like 5 seconds for every kill and the best farms for it were after you kill Jack and any area with large groups of enemies

Challenge idea, you can't drop or sell any weapons you pick up until you complete the takedowns (or OP LVLs for bl2). so you'll have to drag low level weapons to their fullest, with only 50 weapon slots for the whole game can you do it?

Wow, that's unbelievably creative. I reckon he would go for a melee build. Rapier + Love Thumper combo can last from level 18 to 30. From there, it's honestly just The Bee farming and going for unique blues, like the Lady Fist. Zer0, Gaige (with her Anarchy) or KRIEG would be ideal, KRIEG especially, considering his action skill is basically just melee. Would definitely be fun to see Joltz coming around these problems lol. Just commenting so you have a bigger chance of him seeing this.

It really is frustrating to see. Deathtrap could be so powerful if his A.I. was better and he cycled between attacks for the situation or even better if you were able to target enemies and get DT to use specific abilities.

Man. This just shows how awful DT is at almost everything. Low damage per hit, bad easily confused AI, slow attacks with long wind up times which allow many enemies to to move out of the way. It also has the longest action cool down and doesn’t have enough HP to be a worthwhile tanky distraction.

I'd like to say that the cooldown of BAR is longer, but you can take damage to make it faster AND spec into RTB to get it back instantly, so yeah... Gaige is still tons of fun.

That aside, she can still really cause some havoc; she's basically Krieg-lite for shining up close and her most effective builds requiring an unorthodox mindset. Ultimately, if you're not adverse to some risk-taking and experimentation with her skill trees, she'll get you through and be hilarious while she does it.

I used to farm Exp using Deathtrap and Rakks in the warrior arena that are infinitely spawning. Just have the "gain duration after a kill" node on the skill tree and leave the game on... Other than that, only use I've found for Deathtrap is as a shield booster (and glitching pretty much infinite shield recharge) with one of the capstones. I salute you for going through this endeavor, seemed like such a slog!

Yooo 13:06 there is actually a feature where if u repair the beacon a certain amount of times its just auto win. So just shoot and drop you're gun. if u drop you're gun before the bullets hit the becon it will deal enemy damage

Fun fact the reason that Jack got stuck at the ammo crate is because he tries to restock his ammo so you can't if he activates the button you can't activate it until the cooldown resets so I guess he had just bugged out in the process of trying to do that

For those thinking of doing this themselves I highly recommend the Borderlands Commander mod by Mopiod. It'll allow you to speed up the game and cooldown Deathtrap quickly. Just make sure to find a safe spot in combat first. At 4x speed even a Skag Pup will kill you

Aside from the dogshit AI, Deathtrap does serious work if you give pick the right skills. He's most effective in the lv. 50 range, then falls off a cliff after that. Share a Grounded Hide of Terramorphous with him and slap on the Anarchy spin attack and he oneshots almost everything he's intelligent enough to attack. That is, assuming he's intelligent enough to do so. The middle tree is also the worst for Deathtrap. There's a mod that overhauls him to be more balanced.

I mean, you did the best you could with what you had available. It's not your fault the run is not possible. I will say that even though Angel bugs out when the fight lasts too long, you still made it to destroying one of the injectors, and if you did that it proves that you can get them all...this was a failure in the game's programming. The fight doesn't change, other than getting easier because Lilith starts helping.
