I should have mentioned, the only reason I flip cans is to annoy my wife (she hates that move). I've been trying to make it into a trend. The one caveat is, if you're still single... this trick is likely to backfire 🤗

My experience is that you can get work without a degree, but it is only going to help you get interviews and later promotions if you do have a degree. I have always been about learning things because i am interested in them rather than attaining certifications. My observation though is that people with certifications get taken seriously from the outset. My last SQL job, i practically begged my boss to let me write a couple of key functions to be used in queries. I ended up staying with that company for two years writing SQL code and optimising other peoples queries.

I directly stoped your video in order to tell you something. Thank you to say that it's more important to know how to use the data and have and impact than being technical and shit. I'm a geomatic student and we use alot of geographical data bases and I was always the one finding solutions without needing all that structures with python or anything else. And I really love big data and how to create real indicators in order to take real decisions. I losed my self esteem because my solutions doesn't needed to look that big but were based just on some logic. All other student are here coming with big programmation skills and code more that what they really need. I'm finishing my semester now and I was feeling weak near all of it and asked myself if I was made for this and I just realize that I've been into analysis everyday of my life in a high level and this is actually bigger than my programming skill but this is my strength and difference.

No I dont, just a bachelors and tons of training, courses and hands on experience. If im being honest, Im perfectly ok at where im at because I work on a lot of personal projects in my free time and the plan is to have one of those take off and leave the corporate world at some point. In the meantime, Im at a decent level and pay without too many responsibilities that allow me to have tons of free time to work on my own stuff. 12:12 But here's the thing: If you made an interesting analysis, but no one is there to read your analysis, did you really make an analysis? This is a great point, when joined with other points mentioned in the video, basically the important thing is to convey the right information in the right way to the right people. Right information: Information that the audience are allowed to know about, and are relevant to them. Right way: Best using graphics and great presentation style and attractive way of presenting them (whether by talking or by written forms). Right people: People who make decisions or will gain something from the information you give them, or simply, people who should get the information for some reason. Depends on purpose as well.

Dude, this is really cool 👍 I’ve been a Data Integration consultant for most of my career and a year ago, I’ve had projects where I worked as the Data Viz Analyst using Tableau or Power BI. I’ve never seriously thought of becoming a Data Scientist coz I really thought I need to do a formal course on Data Science or get a PHD in Math or Stat before I can become one. But recently, it seems like the only thing that separates me from Data Scientist is that they know how to create/use models and they use really advanced stats. Now, I’m doing Python and maybe start learning R as well (or maybe something drag&drop like SPSS). I’m gonna start reading about models and stuff as well. Hopefully it works out and be able to get an opportunity to work as a Data Scientist 😁
@tatakmirasa296 жыл бұрын
Also, just an idea.. you mentioned about effective communication. Although it’s pretty normal in our world to see Devs, BAs, Architects, Clients discussing about projects, i thought maybe it’s a good idea to get those people together and exchange their roles like BA will take on Dev role, Client act as the Architect (and so on)..and come up with a solution to a problem.. and then get another non technical person (maybe an actor or a writer or an entertainer) to try interpret the solution and see how effective each person are as their temp role and how effective they communicate. Or maybe just simply get those people together to discuss their roles and the challenges they regularly experience when working with each other on a project. But put a serious amount of comedy in it coz it just sounds too serious 😂
@vivekpal10046 жыл бұрын
Communication is the most important part of most modern day jobs, really. Thanks for the tips!
