Yep. I even like that the bonus points are relatively easier to get for the last place contestant and near impossible to get for the first place. 1000 points for 3rd place is way more common than running the table for 1st.

Had to go search for this, KZbin didn't recommend it. As Jomboy mentioned Josh Grenada had a "cool name", it made me think that Jimmy and Jake should rate each kid's name. SO, I went to the JomBoy and Jake TV page, it wasn't showing on the main page there, so I had to click "Videos", and it finally appeared. But I guess you were sitting beside me so you know what AKKKSHUALLY happened.

All-Time Event Leaderboard Update!!! Holy Toledo folks we just had a show! Chris joins an elite class with his performance today! First, he tied for 2nd all-time in Spirals recording 8. He ties Brian S05E01 and Josh, of this episode haha. Second, Chris breaks the Basic Training all-time mark of 22.7 held by Jennifer S04E01. Finally, Chris ties the all-time mark in Over The Top with first ever champ Heather “this tv game show should not be as hard…”, then Oliver “Jake is a big fan of this contestant”, then Jen S03E05, and a fellow Chris S05E01. In all, Chris S05E03 joins Drew S03E07 and Tommy S04E02 as competitors who claimed an all-time leaderboard first place on (2) events, and recorded a second place all-time leaderboard in a third event. 👏 👏 👏. Not for nothing, Josh, as stated before landed tied for second all-time in Spirals. And, Josh is third all-time in Basic Training. A really good showing and definitely an episode winner 9/10 times.

Jake seems to get biggest flops with his disqualified contestants, but also get the biggest wins with the prefect score contestants.

In the High Jump event, Chris cleared 8'1" on his final jump and Mary Pam finished in second place and 200 points, for a total of 500 points going into the Crag. If Chris hadn't cleared 8'1" he and Mary Pam would have tied for first place, given 300 points each, and Mary Pam would be sitting at 600 points going into the Crag instead of 500. Jimmy needs Mary Pam to break 1000 points to get his second bonus point. 3rd place on the crag only awards 375 points, while 2nd place awards 550 points. This means that regardless of how Chris's final jump turned out, Mary Pam would have still needed 2nd place in the Crag to break 1000.

I think the scoring when ties are involved is based on how many players did better. So if there's 2 contestants in 1st place, the other receives 3rd place points. Having one 1st place contestant and two 2nd place contestants would result in the tied players receiving 2nd place points. It made sense in my head.

I love bonus points. My only tweak I would recommend for future season is the bonus points for running table, not coming in last, and getting over 1,000 should be available by draft pick, not placement. For example if one botches a first pick and their contestant finishes third but gets 1,000 points, they should not get a bonus point. Also if someone’s third place gets second or first, they will get the bonus point for getting over 1000 (essentially punishing the bad drafts ahead of them)

It’s amazing still to this day that well over half of the kids clearly don’t know what GUYS is, didn’t ask to be there, and don’t understand it’s a competition that u are supposed to try hard to fast etc….on every single event. Easily over half of the contestants. Some of them don’t even know where they are I don’t think. It’s bizarre. Really really bizarre

Since you guys are always confused by the scoring. If two players tie for first then the other player gets third place (300-300-100). If two players tie for second they both get second place instead (300-200-200). If any player gets disqualified or didn't finished an event it's an automatic third place finish. The show has been consistent the entire time.
