Man I have been looking at boats for a wail know and you’re boat with the split bench in the back and the tiller engine is just so smart for the side by side chairs and space saving front deck it just seem like to perfect fit for a smaller boat and nothing to go bad no wood all welded should last forever. this winter am starting to save for one. Ever thought about a rod holder on the back of the boat would make good for trolling and fishing operations out the back of the boat. A lot of the catfish guys have them great video

Really enjoyed the video (first time) Yeah, that rod holder situation would drive me nuts! I wouldn't drill holes for em though. Seems like a pain to fish em in and out of holes in aluminum.. also a good way to booger up your eyelets.

I watched your 1 year walk around yesterday and your 2 year walk around today. I think the jack plate was a good idea. I like the Scotty bait board too. Not sure what I would do about rod storage. Maybe you could slip the rod tips into some flush mount gunnel style rod holders in the support for your front deck or maybe even something smaller than that.

I’ve got a Crestliner retriever 2070, it has holes cut for running rods up into the bow compartment. They work great I recommend it but if you cut holes yourself you might want to install sleeves up in there or the rods might be hard to slide out past the eyes. The holes in my bow have internal sleeves/tubes.

Great set up. Your boat is sure set up nice, but I would definitely put the 3 rod holders tubes in for your fishing rods. Mainly before you break one and then also it's a lot cleaner look.

That 1652 is nice. I want a but more space. But the rod holders are great and they have endured alot so far and I could not see my boat without them.

I had the same issue with my Alweld on rod storage. I mounted a support mid ways along the gunnel. It can be removed or put down out the way. Just don’t in front my rear and front deck I mounted D-rings so when I lay my rods flat I can bungee them down. I’ll try and send you a picture because it took my a while to finally come up with something other than drilling like you mentioned. Nice video

Hey brother, on anything that is rusting out, use dielectric grease and it will protect it from the elements

I have rod sleeves for my poles. Not only does it help protect them, but keeps them from tangling with each other. If you don't want to drill into your boat maybe rod sleeves will be good enough for now.

That's a great idea. Do the rod sleeves tangle your line when you slide them on or does the hooks get stuck in the sleeves when your rods are already rigged?

Love your videos!! Getting my first 1436 Grizzly Tracker here in about 2 weeks and really want to buy a Minn Kota Terrova 55lb Thrust but have heard different shaft sizes from 36" to 45". Which one do you have and did you need to make any modifications?

Totally understand, I had a hard time trying to decide my shaft length. I went with the 54 inch shaft and its been perfect and I love that I can adjust it when running in rough waters or shallow. These are my specs- Terrova 55/US2 Trolling Motor w/i-Pilot & Bluetooth - US2 12V-55lb-54"

Amazon has one available. I used the Thumbtack app to find a local welder for my boats wench eye, but im sure you can find one to do your seat. I had mine custom made when the boat was built by weldbilt boats. Hope that helps. I’m with you on the holes. It hurts putting semi “permanent” mods in your boat. But, you’ll enjoy it that much more. Don’t overthink it. Just do it. I’m sure you’ll dig it but what’s the worst that can happen?

I think my John boat is like 14ft long I think 6 ft in the back 5 ft in the front, maybe about 3 foot deep, and yes the rod holders would be nice!

That's a big boat. It's basically the size of mine then. Mine is a 1448. 14ft long and 48 inch wide across the floor. 65 inches across the gunwales.

I had mine customized by backwoodslanding.com in Alabama but I did it over the phone and email. My boat is a 1448 flat bottom weldbilt. I got my seats from tacklewarehouse and Amazon. They are Millennium marine boat seats
