Part 3 of my Jon boat to bass boat build on this 1436 boat. In part 3 checkout how I did the seat post holes, water sealing, carpeting and hatch lids. I'm definitely not a professional bass boat builder but I think it's starting to really come together!

For the hatches, do you cut out any extra to allow for the carpet, or is the width of the saw blade enough?

I cut out 1/8 of an inch to allow for the carpet. It would depend on the thickness of the carpet you use, but I'd suggest shaving off just a little at a time until you have a snug fit.
