What’s the gear you use for your drop shots?

7’2ml Shimano Expride and a Shimano Vanford (2500 size). 15lb power pro-> 10lb fluoro leader. 1/0 gamakatsu rebarb hook, 1/8oz weight.

Man, some people just give the fishing community a bad name. Hating on Matt for what? Jealousy, boredom, or whatever. Pretty Sure Matt has proven by now it's not the scope (he didn't just start catching fish bc of livescope, he was whooping some of us long before that). It's his ability to learn and adapt to a new tool, a new technique, a new style, and put the time in on the water. And to adapt on the fly to how the fish react/conditions change. I'm over the "livescope is bad" shenanigans. Either learn it or stfu. I choose not to use livescope, and its ok, not my style of fishing at the moment. But believe its in the plans for future boat upgrades, and then ill start the long process of figuring it out. Until then I can't knock the guys that do. All the pros got it, and still can't make the fish bite, they still don't all crush 20lbs a day for 4 days in a row. It increases your odds slightly, but it doesn't make the fish eat. It's the same argument about the A-Rig all over again. Livescope can be just a much of a hinderance as it helps, spend all day chasing fish and watching em ignore your bait. In conclusion of my long-winded rant: Scope GOOD, Hating BAD hahaha.

Go ahead and take that unit away, I guarantee he’s still beating you up and down the block. Btw, I’d put money on it that you have a ffs as well you just suck at utilizing it. Also - how much does FFS really play on the Potomac 🧐🧐 Years ago Matty showed up at fountainhead with a 5hp motor that didn’t even work half the time (PRE LIVESCOPE) and finished 2nd or 3rd in points in his first full season. Sure, Jon boat series…but also 20+ of the best fisherman on that specific body of water. He’s continued to absolutely demolish across any tournament series he’s fished, and done it in a way that I very much look up to. He’s not an asshole, will talk to anyone and everyone, shares where and what he caught fish on, takes a ton of people out fishing and remains competitive. He’s always been fishy. Get out of here with that nonsense.
