Cryer just played the ordinary straight man. I'm not takin anything away from his 80's work, but Sheen was the show. That's why it fell apart without him. He has natural onscreen charisma and comedic timing. He's not a Sheen for nothing. His dad's also a great actor. My brother had the pleasure of meeting Martin. He said he's a very cool down to earth guy.

Cryer owes the whole revival of his career to Sheen. 2 and a half men should have been called the " The Charlie Sheen Show." Since without him the show would be nothing. Cryer is so full of it when he says Ashton is similar to Charlie. That's such a load of crap. Charlie was the show everyone else was expendable besides the maid she was actually the only one besides Sheen with good comedic timing, and talent. So where has Cryer been since the show ended. I think the show was starting to die by Season 8 as they were obviously running out of ideas but Sheen's departure shattered the whole dynamic of the show. Allan and Charlie are one of comedy's greatest odd couples, you just can't have one without the other. If you don't find the idea of Ashton Kutcher acting stoned then there's nothing in Two and Half Men for you now.
