I don't know why it took hearing it so many times (mostly from this video) but the reason why Breekon found it funny that Jon asked about his "real voice" is because Breekon & Hope is a Manifestation directly from The Stranger itself. They *HAVE* no voice of their own because that would run counter to the concept of The Stranger, since it takes the identities of others as the kernel of truth to sell the lie of it being human enough to be "wrong." Damn this show is so well-written!

He put one of their friends in there after she killed his other half, ”Eldritch Abomination Delivery Man #2.” The reason he pauses in the middle of his sentences is that’s when his partner would typically finish them for him.
