It is amazing to be able to now hear not Jon’s, not Kate’s, but HANNAH’s side of the story. I can tell from Hannah’s tone of voice and body language that she seems like a very honest, open, down-to-earth young lady who has nothing to hide. We know this is not just information Jon forced her to say on TV, she wanted to say it herself now that she is 18. I loved listening to how a big reason she chose to live with Jon was because he was able to give the undivided attention she never was able to receive while living with Kate. She constantly just felt smushed between her siblings and could never really be herself since since was just a part of the “Gosselin Gang.” Living with Jon, she has actually been able to experience what a smaller, more typical household feels like with only 2-3 kids. So happy for her, that’s wonderful Hannah. ❤️❤️❤️

That's "sounds" good and everything but what I take from it us that he focused his attention on her & not his other kids. When you choose to have kids, whether they "chose" to have 8 or not, you can't just focus all your attention on one child. I assume he would be equally open if another kid had come to live with him, and not Hanna. Parental alienation is also a very real thing.

How Hannah was able to see through her mothers lies and give her dad a shot is beyond me, she must be so mature for her age. She didn’t follow what mom said. Makes me wonder what Kate is telling the children. It’s also nice to know it was actually late who cheated yet silenced Jon the entire time. Legally he couldn’t speak on it at all. He must be breathing fresh air now that they’re 18!!! I hope more of them give him a shot. Kate ultimately got what she deserved. NO more air time!! I hear she’s working as a nurse again. Awww I watched the show religiously when I was 13-16. ! I loved them babies.! Now I'm almost 30 😭 and the itty bitty babies are 18. Watching them grow up is so crazy. I am so glad Jon went to get Collin. He needs his parents, not someone raising him and Jon obviously knows that. Good for him and so glad that his daughter found that her father was there for her. I am sure it hit her hard when Collin left and wanted to be there for him too. Out of any of them, he needed the most attention. The woman (his ex) has made sure to keep his kids away from him (dispite him saying he's been trying to keep in contact for years and texting them but they never text back) he is also paying for child support. Like at the end of the day as a parent that probably would have hurt alot and this might be his only way to communicate with them and try to tell them what went down and what their mom said about him wasn't all correct. From a male perspective I feel like, Jon literally lost his whole family over his wife playing him dirty with the shows producer while the show was just taking off. Then they bashed Jon and made him seem unstable, unsuitable father. Then the producers made "Kate plus 8". About ten years go by and Jon's name was bashed into the dirt for that intirety. Jon is clearly suffering from PTSD. He's already gone forward with his life, but the scars will always be visible.

I used to watch this show. I had seen the first two specials when they were babies and was excited when it became a series. (However the popularity of the show did reach a point where it was not healthy for those kids and really you should stop sharing your children when they reach around school age anyway.) I remember at the time when I could see Kate and Jon’s relationship breaking down feeling as if both were clearly at fault. Kate was controlling and belittling, but Jon was constantly shutting down communication, and acting rude and disinterested. However, I think after hearing Jon’s side it’s possible that the bias filming could have portrayed him as a villain and to be honest who wants to air out their drama on camera. He’s illuminated the fact that his on camera behavior was due to not wanting to be a part of the show and I can understand it. I still don’t think he’s a perfect human being, but I have some more empathy for his behavior now. Kate on the other hand lost all of my respect. I could perhaps forgive her controlling Karen behavior because I just felt at the time that was just how she parented. I didn’t really agree with everyone that she was wrapped up in the fame and I truly believed she loved her kids and was doing the show to provide for her large family. But then I heard about what happened to Collin. There is no way around it. What she did to him was abusive. Collin seems to be dealing with trauma and PTSD to this day. There are other things she has done particularly to Jon that seem spiteful. And I no longer think her controlling behavior was appropriate. Plus, it seemed like she treated certain kids differently and I think when Collin left Hannah became her punching bag so to speak and that may be why she left to live with Jon. Do I think she was fame hungry? Who knows. I won’t say she didn’t enjoy the book tours and all of that, but she’s allowed to have a career outside of just being a mom. The question is whether she prioritized it over the care of her kids and seeing how things played out some of her actions were unforgivable. No child should go what Collin went through and even if Jon is a shitty parent (which he’s probably no more or less shitty than anyone else’s parent), he isn’t an abandon your child in a special needs facility bad parent. I never thought Kate capable of that kind of cruelty to one of her children. But when you view kids as property rather than small individual people who need your guidance and care to grow into healthy independent adults, that’s how you treat them. Glad for Hannah to have made that decision for herself. Sad to hear the other kids won’t even attempt to build a relationship with their dad, but my guess is that Kate has spent years promoting a narrative rather than anything he’s done personally. Otherwise Jon wouldn’t have any of the kids under his care.

I'm sorry, but it comes a time when you have to take responsibility as an adult & as a parent to put your foot down & insist on being in your kids life. If he really wanted to be in their lives, he could've went through the courts because he has just as many rights to see, talk & visit with his kids just as much as the mother does. Their 18 NOW & as far as I'm concerned, their STILL kids & he said that he hasn't seen them in 5-6 years. That's absolutely unacceptable because even if it was a time when they did not wanna "see him" or "talk" to him, he's the parent & it wasn't up to KIDSSSS to make that decision. That's what's wrong with some of these kids nowadays anyways. The parents give them too much leeway at a young age & the children end up being too grown before their time & then you end up with disrespectful kids that think they can make adult decisions all because the parents find it "EASIER" to NOT parent them just to keep from dealing with them. He should be ashamed of himself & so should Kate#

@@liagenzy The courts can give the kids a choice @ 13 on which parent they want to primarily "live with" but the courts DAMN SURE CANNOT tell a child they have a choice in whether or not their parent(s) can SEE, VISIT OR TALK to them. Anyone with the least bit of COMMON SENSE would not leave it up to a CHILD to make decisions like that. Especially if the parent(s) wasn't some kinda danger or threat to the child. In another part of this interview (and others) he stated that he hadn't seen or talked to his kids in 5 years. And all I'm saying is that at those particular ages of their lives when he was absent, it was NO EXCUSE for him to have not communicated with his children. He didn't want to be a parent to 8 kids & now he's content with just being involved with only 2 of his 8 kids so in my opinion he's a deadbeat dad. And another thing. Him & Kate have been divorced for 12 years & he's still holding a damn grudge towards her. So what if she cheated because that was 12 years ago. Build a bridge & get over it. He said that he would be open to doing a reunion show if she "told the truth".....who cares? I mean, why is he even still focused on that at this point??? What the hell did HEEE DO? Because I'm not going to believe that he had no parts in the demise of their relationship.

The courts take the children’s desires into consideration when deciding who the custodial parent will be, and a child also has the right to refuse or waive visitation at a certain age as well. I’m sure the age varies by state. The children have clearly been brain washed and manipulated into believing they are better off not having a relationship with their father. Jon is doing the right thing by keeping the door open and letting the children come to him IF they choose to.

He will never say he left his kids bc he didn’t want to pay child support. 6 out 8 kids stayed with there mom. He’s been trying hard to get back on tv for a couple years now. Give the kids want they want and leave them out of the spotlight.

I can't imagine being robbed out of fatherhood. How the hell does Kate sleep comfortable at night knowing what she did. It's astonishing how evil is complete normality in her heart. He robbed himself by signing his rights away and not being there for his kids. Kids aren't as stupid as some of you. grownups. They saw what was going on. and their father when he was on that Couples Therapy show with his embarrassing behavior. He alienated himself himself by choice and since the kids are all grown he wants to play the blame game and daddy .He has been the one dissing Kate publicly every chance he gets even calling her a Karen in front of his daughter You wonder why they say mean things about him The kids know if he wanted to be in their lives he would have. Men have had to fight to gain custody rights so what was his excuse. They have an organization called Men's Rights. But it is easier to to blame than to take blame They don't hate him just don't need him.they are grown and moving on with their lives.
