@Ritalie3 жыл бұрын
Nope. The UFC is never going to give Jon an opportunity to fight if they know its his last fight. And you have to know that Dana is not giving Jon the Ngannou fight, because he knows that Jon is likely going to retire if he beats Ngannou. From a business perspective, they would be throwing away, potentially $500 million if they let Jon beat Ngannou, and then retire. There's NO WAY they will risk that.

You answered your own question Chael... the difference is that Jon is doing it on purpose. He’s presumably changing his physiology the right way, not due to Father Time, not due to partying and not taking the sport seriously. All we’re doing by talking about him is keeping him relevant in people’s minds, all while he’s taking the appropriate time to put himself in a position to show up on fight night bigger, stronger, faster, and more mature than he’s ever been. Idk about y’all but I don’t know many 255lb men who are sprinting at 20mph

I think it will be a Randy Couture type situation where he generally stood as the bigger and stronger guy at light heavyweight, but was the quicker guy at heavyweight. Jon is very quick for a light heavyweight, and looking at him it looks like he has to work to keep the weight down for his frame. If he retains some of that speed at heavyweight (without the stress of his body of making 205 lbs), he is going to be a very big problem for a lot of guys at heavyweight. The only caveat is how hard some of the others hit compared to guys at 205 (I'm thinking Ngannou), but Jon does have good movement and will be hard to hit.
