Saw Jon do this routine in his home town of Lancaster nearly 15 years ago and certainly in my memory it was one of the best pieces of stand up I've ever seen. Maybe I've changed over the time or he did it a bit differently, but didn't quite tickle me quite the same way watching it here, but still nice to be reminded of it.

But imagine living with him- he'd be complaining all the time. Anyway, he wouldn't like me because I have A LOT of tattoos (they're all very pretty and feminine but I was thinking of applying for a side job at Hooters since my husband lost his job because of Covid19 and apparently I have too many tattoos to work at Hooters. The recruiter was basically giving me the job until he asked me to try on the uniform and saw the cherry blossoms going all the way up my left leg, the flamingo on my right calf and the butterfly on one shoulder and flowers on the other and he couldn't even see my back and my bum which are covered in flowers and birds and a colourful candy skull) and I'm not very bothered about everything being spick and span because I have better things to worry about 😂

I wonder if part of the attraction is that Jon would be one guy they would never have to clean up after. I’m not particularly neat, but I have children and picking up after them after the years is maddening. Imagine, not only would you not have to clean up after Jon, you likely wouldn’t have to clean up after the kids.

Seriously English Audience? How could you NOT laugh at "He had the whole anus in his hand... like the song"? Such a gem! This is why I love British comedy, and particularly Jon Richardson's, because they don't have these over the top stories like chucking pens at ostriches or whatever over the top nonsense so many American comedians (mostly) make up, or atleast they make it feel made up by going way over the top which makes it less funny, for their shows. He's literally just talking about watching a man eat his lunch! To not only just find something so banal and uninteresting as how a man eats his packed lunch and make it so damn funny, interesting and suspenseful is truly amazing and is what comedy should be because it's something that every human being on this planet can relate to because we've all seen people eating packed lunches... we don't, however, have a story about asking Oprah what to do when we're constipated. It's harder to make everyday things funny which really shows the comedians skill. Its also refreshing to see a comedian who has money act like a normal person who still takes the train to work and doesn't let his fame and ego get out of control. I mean if we compare Jon Richardson to an American Comedian in the same net worth bracket we can see the huge difference. Like Tiffany Haddish (Let me just say that I do find her funny... or atleast in the beginning of her career I haven't really seen anything new in a couple years so this has nothing to do with me disliking her or "hating", she was just the first comedian I thought of to see their net worth.), for example, is in the same range as Jon yet Jon's comedy stayed mostly the same and Tiffany's comedy completely diverged from past material as soon as her lifestyles/celebrity/bank accounts changed. Jon still acts the same on stage as he did when he started but as soon as Tiffany gained some attention she was no longer relatable... hell she's like a completely different person! Unless she's recycling parts of her old material she doesn't have anything of her "old self" in her comedy... its like it never happened and now all she talks about is hanging out with this celebrity or trying to bang that celebrity or making this celebrity do something "ratchet" all so she can drop names during her shows to show how important she is now. No more endearing comedy about her grandma or the foster homes or anything else... unless she's recycling or telling us how Kevin Hart helped her by giving her $$$ when she was sleeping in her car because he totally knew she was gonna be big one day or whatever. Its all flashy friends, clothes, jewelry, fucking everything as soon as a comedian "makes it" in America but a lot of English comedians just live such ordinary lives that's its refreshing and impressive. They, or rather most, don't let their ego inflate their sense of self or let the fame change them which is the most important thing imho when it comes to ANY celebrity but especially comedians.... they seriously need to send over ONE of the BBC's so I can watch some nonhacky "orange man bad" comedy! Now I'm never gonna sing that song using the word hand and I'm gonna laugh to myself about wizened apple anuses! God I love that insane bugger!

I totally one hundred percent agree with you, but I just need to say that this was from a long time ago. Considering the lack of a wedding band, I would say about 5 years old or even older, not unless he took it off before getting on stage, which seems unlikely. I haven't really seen more recent shows, but I do hope he's still this guy.
