You're incredible, I feel like you're telling my story. I've been spinning for 10 years, learned from Nick, practiced with bags of dirt in socks and now I'm spinning fire with a community! So grateful you chose this path.

Dear Mr. Alvarez, thank you so much for this video. You are a beautiful individual a beautiful soul. The smile you have when you are spinning shows the truth of your light. Keep spinning and stay beautiful Light-Bender. That is your superpower. You have and will continue to change the world.

That was so amazing. I was introduced to poi while I was still in the midst of a 13 year addiction to substances. Now through Poi and meetings I've been clean/sober for a year. Now when I wanna use, I pick up my poi and go spin, its become my meditation. Thank you Jonathan.

I have 7 months clean from heroin. I had stopped spinning poi for the 4 years while I was addicted. I think that I might finally be recovering now, because I spin everyday again.I thought I broke myself but with time and support I’m realizing I’m not completely lost

You're the BEST, Jonathan! Love your video and love your MESSAGE!!! So happy you found something that truly brings you happiness and in so - brings happiness and joy to others! I do poi ball - just the regular poi ball I learned at a young age since I am a Polynesian dancer. So I was doing some research on glow poi balls and found your video. I hadn't seen these ones before you are you using. They are very cool. Thank you for the video and major props for pursuing spinning and bending light!!! Love it!

I come back after hitting that plateau, needing inspiration and I watch this video and cry missing the person you are and the things you do. You are a huge inspiration to me not just with poi but in life. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a conversation but I’d truely like to reconnect and just talk about life and how things are going. Miss you Jonathan. 💜🌈🐺

I damn near cried when I saw this. I can relate to not having many friends, and it's not fun being judged because you're you. You can't be someone you're not. But you're story, the journey that led to ultimate happiness in spinning poi, is the most epic part of the video. I'm 40 years old, have only started swinging poi (and hitting myself, a lot), and I say with great pride that I look up to you. You're the best super hero on KZbin!

Jonathon Alvarez you have always been like a superhero to me... since the first day i met you that day on August 7, 2010 when you got on the bus on our way to Lowndes High School... the atmosphere around you was confident... stubborn... and positively wonderful... and then I saw you spin for the first time... and the sheer beauty of your movements... the peace in your face brought a tear to my eyes... when you left GA i was heartbroken... but i knew you were destined for greatness... I started spinning after you left... you opened me up to a brand new world of absolute beauty and peace... im not nearly as good as you... but I'm working on it....

Jonathan I dont post comments on youtube ever. But this video breathe taking bro I started spinning a year ago and you spoke how I feel the connection the flow. And you have inspired me even more ive watched your videos over and over showing feiends and all most my friends make fun of me for poi but I just laugh and say they have no flow but I get it cause I use hospital socks as poi lmao. But I want you to know your lake tahoe poi is my all time favorite. And then from there ive watched nick and yall are amazing I watch yalls moves over and over pausing starting over and over and yall have made me a good spinning and connected to the flow so I just wanna say thank you for the inspiration and keep it flowing.
