Oh Lord have mercy on our generation that we take advantage of your grace and think we deserve it not understanding that we deserve dearh and your wrath oh how evil our hearts are help us Lord Jesus Christ to stop this wickedness before it's too late Amen
@MrSonoranbird7 ай бұрын
Rebekah, I don't know that the wickedness can be stopped. Here in the U.S., and in Europe, and places like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, we have reaped the whirlwind. The floodgates burst open after so called gay marriage was let loose on us. After that, God said, "Well, if this is what you want, this is what you'll get." And He even gave us a wicked president in biden. I do think the hour is very, VERY late, and He is near, even at the door. And, as He has promised, "a quick work will the Lord make upon the earth." These end of time events will be rapid. Buckle up. It's about to get very rough.

Jonathan Edwards was certainly NOT ashamed of God's Holy Wrath and Perfect Judgment like so many Western churchians are today.

This sermon is the truth, as it is read in Scripture. It is unfortunate today that so many are led down an unrealistic, untruthful path of skewed teachings, by the falsities of today's society, including those that call themselves pastor. I am not saying all pastors are false prophets.I speak of those whose teachings create false comfort and peace by way of quagmire in order to serve themselves. People today need discipleship in their lives, no matter how long they have been a Christian. It is imperative to encourage each other to run their own race for Christ, and no one else, but also keeping in mind that the road is often challenging. It is often said, "its not how bad you want something,,its about how hard you are willing to work for it." Eveything you want in your spiritual walk is outside your comfort zone.Trust Jesus, and He will guide you. Lastly we are responsible for leading others to the Lord. God cannot use us if we stay unavailable. Statistically, 155,000 people die every 2 seconds without hearing about Christ. The image of seeing them in hell terrifies me. Lord help me surrender to You, so that Your perfect will may be done. Let it be to Your Glory. Amen.

I cannot hear myself breathing, I am like stone. I am so terribly frightened for the veil that Satan has put on my unsaved friends. To know for certain they are soon to be lashing viciously in a lake of burning Brimstone for eternity if they continue to reject God's precious Sons complete work on a cross. How can this be. It's not for me to say but I believe it with all my heart. How, how can I get through to them. I pray to the Lord to woo them. They think I'm off my rocker. But His word has opened my eyes and showed me it's wisdom. The wonderful truth of these Horrors has made me turn from sin so often. Pastors preachers and ministers today, most are a useless lot. Pretending we have all the time in the world, pray to God and he will give you all the desires of your heart. What nonsense. Our sin, our sin, please let me say it again, our sin is the issue. Our sin sends us to a fiery hell. Why can't they focus on our sin!

I wonder just who it is that is doing the vocal, presenting Edward's sermon here. And with the slight echo in the acoustics that perfectly replicate the sound of what a late 1700s church would have had. It is just outstanding in all regards. How would one find out how this was created and by whom?

I've wanted to go through this sermon for a long time since I heard about it. I was setting up to read it when I saw this. Now I'm about to listen and I want to ask (I went through thr entire comment section to find out if this has be asked and answered)... whos voice is this? Cause I don't think there was audio recording in 1741. Surely this isn't the very voice of Jonathan Edwards is it?

When was the last time you heard a sermon like this in Church? Never. Not today. If ever there were a time we should heard this, it is TODAY! The last Great Awakening was 200 some odd years ago. So, it seems like we won't hear this message again. Unless, of course, you are well acquainted with the Bible. For, the message of this sermon is the same.

I am sorry to inform you that this is a edited version of the sermon. I liked it but it has been changed even doctrinaly. Look at this part here from the original: and are now come to such a dreadful pass in blindness and hardness. And you, children, who are unconverted, do not you know that you are going down to hell, to bear the dreadful wrath of that God,

Therefore let everyone who is without Christ now wake up and flee the wrath to come. The wrath of Almighty God is now, without a doubt, hanging over a great part of this congregation. Let everyone flee from Sodom, escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plane. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.” Genesis 19:17 the end What a powerful message of the attribute of Gods wrath

Is this Jonathan Edwards own words spoken by him or somebody is reciting his sermon?
@MrSonoranbirdАй бұрын
Jonathan Edwards preached this sermon in Massachusetts around 1780. It is a an excellent recreation of it, even with the acoustics/ echoes of inside the church. The vocal quality, word inflections, emphasis is unsurpassed by any other version.
