It's the British dry sense of humor at It's best, while showing us the beauty of this man-made landscape.

The BBC don't make clever programmes like this any longer.

They don't and they don't fund them anymore. Meades himself said he went from a small team to do these down to a single car and 2 guys. It openly has no interest in establishment criticism, intellectualism, or wit. Now that it's basically a mouthpiece for failed govt. policy.

Wonderful stuff. Hadn't seen this one. Always find Meades so entertaining but wish I cou,d watch the stuff two or three time to 'get it'. Now I can! Thanks.

This is Meades' best fitting suit era.

I know what you mean, it's like listening to an essay. My brain is tricked into expecting the cliches of documentary story-telling to fill in the gaps in my ignorance.

Very interesting and exiting walk throug the gardens with very worthful and intellectual commentaries and beautiful views on it ... but poor quality on screen. Is it possible to post an HD? If not, where can I get one? I'm very interested in getting one for my seminar paper.

Just discovered this wonderful man....what a hilarious and dry commentary. He makes these "other" documentary presenters look so pretentious. You best have a good grip on the English language however....

He's always disliked television presenters for their rehearsed mannerisms and assumed sense of unearned self importance. So he said he sought to be an anti-presenter therefore you get this wonderfully disjoined aloof presenting style because he doesn't think you as the viewer should be pandered to because he doesn't think the viewer is an idiot. He values the viewer and wants them to go with him on this mind bender. He's like a verbose bouncer to a club but will always try and wrangle it so the owner lets you in free of charge. That's what I've always liked a out Meades. He's a genuinely decent guy in reality and is principled. Which is a rarity now.
