Jonathan's story: Life-changing surgery for 3-yr-old Ugandan boy at U-M

3-year-old Jonathan was considered a “diseased child” in Uganda because of the grapefruit-sized tumor draped around his neck. He was isolated, couldn’t play with other kids or even go to school.
He traveled across the world to University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital for a six-hour procedure to remove the tumor.

Thank you to the U of M Children's Hospital for helping this boy to have a much better chance of a better life in his community. There is no secret what my God can do-what He’s done for me, He’ll do for you! I had a mass on my neck, not nearly as large, but large enough to strike my 25 y.o. ego. Mine was cancerous, and I was given the summer to live if I didn’t begin treatment immediately. 7 years later, and I’m here, happy and healthy and I pray many more whole, healthy years for this sweet boy as well. The blood still works!
