Then notice how his right arm never left the side of his body concealing the 2 slices (you wont see them but assume they are there :D) until 4:36 in which ,again he drops the other 2 into the other pile (and you can see its a bigger stack at that point!) His style of humor was especially perfect for the act (and just good in general). Late reply here, but I just watched it. Also in general, I feel like fooling Penn and Teller shouldn't even be the main thing, when you have someone like this guy performing. Cuz every theatre in Vegas is probably gonna tell the guy to fuck off since he performed "poorly" on the show, even though he deserves his own show. They should've made the Penn and Teller thing a *mix* between fooling them, and just overall entertaining them. Granted, there's plenty of shitty acts, so I get it -- but this guy wasn't one of them. It still depends on how many tricks he can do, but even just his jokes could carry most of the show, and he's good at improvising too. Though I still can't tell when he exchanges the cheese, so for me, it's still a cool trick.

For those that dont know: cards across is a popular card trick in which you create two piles of cards and instruct the 2 random audience members to stash them away. What they dont know is that the card piles have been modified by you RIGHT before they were instructed to hide the piles. It is done by palming the card piles before the hand off. As for the random number given from the audience, its not exactly random if you shout the number you want. The palming moments: 4:36 - 4:37 and 3:55
@ByJiminyMagic Жыл бұрын
Well spotted 😆

Using the "give the rest of the cheese to her" to have the first audience member walk in front of him to obscure the first palm is neat blocking. He then has to keep his arm down in kind an unnatural way for a while though. But like Penn says, cheese is not an easy thing to palm.

A fellow magician here and I come back to watch this performance _time and time again_ my friend! The sheer showmanship, the entertainment value - man, you are a fabulous performer! Most of all, you remind me why I got into magic - not for any clever kind of gimmicky, knuckle-busting, narcissistic 'look at me' illusions, but for the sheer joy and fun of classic magic! Thank you!

If you pay close attention, he adds the two extra slices of cheese to her pile he was palming at 4:36. He distracts the audience by drawing attention to her and asking if she would like to take a bow.

Also at 3:56 he started to keep his right hand hidden after he gave the first "10" back, although I wasn't completely sure until he enforced it after the bow he made unnecessary comment about how many slices of cheese were in a pack after that it was over. He did really good with his humor and misdirection, to be able to hold onto a crowd like that was awesome he's got talent

They loved it too and it shows. I doubt he really expected to fool them; it's a very old trick. Since the point of the program is really to showcase "up and comers", I'm sure he's happy with the appreciation - just getting on that stage is great; getting both of them to laugh and clap is gravy.

Dead on, MrJest2. They also invite "ringers" they're pretty sure will be able to pull one over on them so that people can see the grand masters at work. Go watch the Richard Turner one for an example.

With KZbin (on PC) showing which part on the timeline most people click on it is easy to find where the magic happens. At 3:45 you can see him taking 2 slices from the top and palming them, making the pack 8 slices instead of 10. At 4:36 he puts the cheese back on top and that pack is now 12 slices. Teller would've been able to pull this off perfectly too

Penn said it’s sleigh of hand. So he must have removed 2 slices to the guy’s stack and added 2 from the girl’s stack, after when he was counting to 10 and before he handed the stack to them. Some signs are like how he was fondling the stacks in his hands after they got the “10” slice of cheese. He asked the audience a number between 1-5, but he was always gonna pick 2 anyway. If he got one audience to pick a number, then he would need to change the routine to do the sleigh of hand right before they reveal the stacks.

3:51 He gives a command to the boy to pass the cheese to the girl. when the boy passed the magician, that was the time he gets 2 cheese to hide in his hand then he holds the cheese with his right hand. focus on his right hand as u can see he is not moving his right hand until he gets another 10 cheese to the girl and in 4:36 he moves his right hand to the cheese . that was the time he place the cheese together. so the girl already have 12 cheese
