Yeah I totally figured it out on second viewing esp after Penn mentioned double. But this guy should have his own show!
@therealhumanguineapig75373 жыл бұрын
Not for sure, but I think I suspect how he did it. Secret compartment in back of loveseat so he basically rolls thru out the back easily when couch is first closed and he is concealed, then he slips his hand out from a secret sleeve in the "straightjacket" while still having hands and arms behind back, to throw the cereal, keys, etc... As soon as the slow hand pulls in and the "EMT" comes out, he simply ducks behind the cardboard box barricade used as stage dressing and runs to the left behind stage to pop out from boxes on the right. Anywhere near close?

@@shush665 Yeah I can see everything else, but apparently you gotta reach the reappearing side moving on plain sight, but there might be something that was cut off on edit. Also there is something about the rules that I am not sure about, for me Alyson must have seen him escaping the couch inmediately, and maybe also the double behind. There is one other option though, and that is that he is behind the couch all the time and he has a real twin
@stephenallen61482 жыл бұрын
I think that “double action” was referring to the fact that the couch is most likely a cloning machine. The Jonathan that appears from the side stage is a clone, and, the old Jonathan gets dropped behind the couch into a water tank to drown. There was a trick like this in The Prestige. That’s how the method was explained in the movie.

From the moment I first saw him, Jonathan Burns blasted his way into my top favorite magicians, right alongside Kyle Eschen and Richard Turner. It's great to see him back on the show, although--if I'm being totally honest--it feels like his trick was really hurt by missing an actual in-person audience. Jonathan is hilariously funny, but without an audience to actually laugh at his jokes, it creates an awkward air around every gag and joke (I presume they're just adding in canned laughter/cheering in post this season, and in person it's basically just the magician, Allyson, and Penn and Teller). All the same, Jonathan remains an incredibly funny guy, and I'd absolutely love to see one of his shows in person, where his enthusiasm and personality can really shine with a live audience.
