On climb, set power slowly. I own and fly 1980 C414A and climb is 35 inches and 2500 RPM with RAM engines (2450 otherwise). Cruise RPM set is 2200-2400. Descenets 2200-2300 RPM and can be left untouched as you gradually reduce power (about 1 inch MP per minute to avoid shock cooling. Final should be at 110 kts, then landing assured 95 kts and in flair while with power on. Taking power off will help you settle. I have thousands of hours in these lovely planes (C310. 340. 414, and 414As). Love the plane. No idea how I came across this, but was surprised to see my plane in a flight sim. Have fun!

Thanks for this video on the autopilot. It's unique. I have the premium version of GTN 750 and it now has an autopilot feature. I find using that, especially for the pitch control, to be easier to use. Its compatible with all autopilots and will not give you any features the plane's autopilot doesn't have. I've got to get this plane soon.

I just purchased this plane as it's in it's final release. Very interesting autopilot. Quite the challenge. I flew with the dual GTN750 and still had problems with the autopilot but managed an ILS approach successfully. It sometimes doesn't follow the flight plan and once it didn't recognize the plan at all and I had to restart the flight. When using the GTN750s, the altitude alert is digital and I don't understand how to use it. The manual doesn't talk about it. It will show 35,000 feet and then finally show the correct altitude when I level off. Then when coming down, it will show -1,500 feet. Maybe you could do another video showing the autopilot again but this time with the GTN 750s. Love this plane though. Lots of work done in producing it.

When I use the TDS GTN 750xi I always use the Working Title Autopilot, it seems to work much more effectively than the default one especially during approaches. Flysimware made a different livery for each cockpit variation so you have to look for PMS GTN+WT or TDS GTN+WT to use the working title autopilot version for which ever GTN 750 you're using. This, IMHO, is the best GA aircraft on the market right now for FS 2020, however, there's one thing I wish they would have coded properly and that's the Cessna RN-1079A RNAV system similar to the KNS-80 RNAV system Black Square coded for their awesome new Analog Caravan Cessna 208 cockpit. Great video!
@jonbeckett2 жыл бұрын
Yes - the GTN 750 is much better.
@JockoFlocko2 жыл бұрын
@@jonbeckett Actually what I meant to say that the PMS GTN 750 is the one that works with the Working Title Autopilot, not the TDS version. Also, with the TDS version you *MUST* capture the glide slope from below the beam.

Thanks you for this; great to have your explanantion of the arcane autopilot! I still have one mystery to solve - maybe it's an xbox thing but although NAV works fine for ILS, follows the locater and glide slope, if I tune to a VOR the NAV won't engage at all. It shows correctly on the HSI but even if I'm heading directly to the VOR and in close proximity I cannot click the NAV button. I notice on your video as soon as you tune to Bovingdon VOR and click NAV vor shows up on the display and it behaves fine. Any ideas? Anyone else had this problem? Could it be something to do with the Working Title Garmin 530? Anyway Thanks very much for this very clear explanation.
@frederix78472 жыл бұрын
Just to answer my own question, if I delete the WT 530 and use the default one it all works fine so there is a conflict. Let's hope Working Title fix it soon as it's great other than this glitch.
