Since it's an outro, Jon has included a lot of lines from his previous songs on the album such as "nothing has changed, he is the same" (1st song), "just like the 80s films, we'll hook up..." (80's films), "overwhelming" (Overwhelming), "low, low, low" (All time low) and "lay me down in brooklyn if I lose my life; push me down the hudson and turn on the radio" (new york sou pt2). I might've missed something

All the songs that are mentioned in the end: He is the Same (intro) - “nothing has changed, he is the same” All Time Low (title) - “low, low, low, low, low” 80s Films - “Just like the 80s films, we’ll hook up in the back seat and let my best friend drivel Overwhelming - “Overwhelming, overwhelming” Guillotine - “Bum-ba-de-bum-ba-bum-ba-bum-ba-de” New York Soul - “Push me down the Hudson and turn on the radio, long islands only smiling because my soul is flying, I did everything for New York” Hand of God (outro) - “Tears at a funeral I might break, angry at all the thing I can’t change, when you’re lost in the universe don’t lose face, my mama said your whole life’s in the hand of god” I really love how the intro (he is the same) and the outro (hand of god) blend together. Especially since He is the Same is about a guy whose life is pretty shitty and he doesn’t do anything to fix it but when you put it in the context of Hand of God, it’s saying that nothing has changed and that God will always have a plan for you. It really ends the album in such a hopeful light

Actually, not all of them. I believe those are the most important moments in his Human Condition. "He is the same" refers to him being the same person even after his life changed completely. "All time low", on the other hand, is about being at the lowest point of a relationship, opening his heart and being honest with a partner that is important to you in life. "80s Films" is about Nostalgia. Actually, Bazzi describes it very well in his Genius Verified for "Mine". "New York Soul Part II" is my favorite here, because it takes you back where you were born, where it all began. One of the most (if not the most) important time in your life. "Guillotine" Is about an everlasting with someone (can be even with yourself), or maybe god, who knows. This album is perfect. It goes from fears to struggles with faith, to how fame can change you, to an imminent dead. This one is filled with emotions because the hand of God is not only a reference to put your faith in god, but how plans work out when you assume your role as a human (I lust, give, try and sometimes lose my way).

I'm not religious. I'm probably the furthest thing from, for my own personal reasons obviously. But this song. This. Song. The soul, the heart, then energy put into this song because of Jon.. It makes you feel. When I cried the first time listening to this, it was weird. I didn't fully understand why. I'm not a Christian. I don't believe in God. But when everything crescendo I just broke down. That feeling of someone finally telling me I'm not alone hit me. You could be the most atheist, non-believer in the world and still. I'm at a lost of words. The ending, especially when 80's film comes in, makes me want to live in that exact moment forever. I've listened to this song about 9 times and every time I get chills, I get emotional, I have to just sit back, stop everything, and enjoy the music. How Jon channeled his faith into this is so special. His music is so special. And how he combined so many of the songs from the album all into the end is fucking fantastic. Sheldon on the lead vocal and the addition of the choir. The heart. The heart. It's so amazing. I think this will always be my favorite song by him.

For me it was those lines and "Nothing has changed, He is the same", at least on the Christian and God side of things, on the other hand I like is as a song especially the end. If you'd like another song for "when you need a hand" or "you're never alone", I really love "By Your Side" by Tenth Avenue North. The song basically says no matter what you've done, no matter what you're going through, if you left Me, if you fall, or need someone, I am right here (I and Me being God). Its a pretty good song. The "Nothing has changed, He is the same" was (and is still) important to me. A long time ago I was super connected to God and it seemed everything went right and even if it didn't I know God is going to make something great out of it. But now. Now it seems like He no longer talks to me and everything goes wrong in almost every situation. I got depression from it all. But this song helped me realize God doesn't love me any less nor does He care about me less. He still wants whats best for me, even when its hard to see though my depression. Nothing has changed. He is the same.

Its sooo interesting because that's how I interpreted it. God/Jesus is the same always. In reality, it was copying one of his earlier songs about how a college guy is the same person as he was as a kid and who he was once he grew up. But I think here it was also supposed to be a nod to God instead, like my original statement. For example, me, when I was a little kid I'd pray for the pink gumball from the quarter machines and I'd get it, a very very low chance. Or I'd pray for a green light for mom because she really needed it, and there it was. I was super connected to God. Now, nothing goes my way and it seems like the worst outcome always happens, we became less connected once I got depression. Nothing seems ok. But God is just as "with me" as he was when I was 4. He is the same as He was back then, and He will never let me go. All was going according to his plan when He gave me the pink gumball. Now these things that are happening are according to His plan. Sorry this was waaayyyy too long of a comment.

JAKE 'LIGHTENFATE wrong It's the closing climax that pretty much validates his whole career on it's own. The rubbery blocks of bass with the liquid guitars in the background his muted delivery as he goes through his bad decisions and maintaining a hookup for all the wrong reasons to refusing to deal with real grief. Then the piano line shifts on the second chorus and nothing prepared you for Sheldon Ray and the Andre Crouch Choir against a tide of strings and rumbling beats it's a melody of lines that merges across the record and the climax point that finds god not in church but in the small moments that tells his story. God I love this song. But it isn't about asking god for help. Why do you think other song's melodies come into this song because it's his stories. You have to look at the album as a whole.
