Yeah, they are so very different looking. Quite a familiar yet exotic look to them. Thanks so much Zach! :D

Great modelling information and interview Jon. In all your interviews you come up with some really great questions. It is very enlightening for me. I don't usually watch videos over an hour longer, but your content is always great.

@@JonBius and I'd love to see how you attack/approach a frame arms girl kit. Is that something we can look forward to? 🔥🔥🔥

@@kprosales13 I'd not thought about it until Zach mentioned it. To be honest I'm not sure - it's not an aesthetic that grabs me as far as building, etc. But you never know - four years ago I would have never believed I'd NOT be building aircraft! :D

Took a look at Zach's channel, saw a ton of reviews and builds but I couldn't find any painted stuff except a couple of Ma.K's

He's definitely done some painted Gunpla. Some very nice ones in fact. He did a tiger-striped PG Zaku that he actually sent to Pewdiepie! :) He did this really cool Sazabi. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJeooKp7eLlglc0 Do a search for "painted final review" on his channel and you'll see quite a few. He has such a clean, minimalist aesthetic. I do love his work! Thanks for watching and commenting Scott!

@@JonBius Thanks Jon, it's buried in a lot of content. I am curious to see if any clean paint jobs are to my taste. It wasn't until I saw Link's weathered Red Beret that I started paying any attention to Gunpla at all, and now I have a few kits. Will definitely check some of these out. Thanks!

Gloss coats are really need for decal to prevent "silvering" and allows the decal to set. Decals do not like matte surfaces and gloss coats help the carrier film decals are printed on to blend in. If you do not want to coat the whole kit just put the gloss were it is need only.
@JonBius4 жыл бұрын
I've placed decals on matte and satin surfaces many times, but I don't recommend it unless you're very comfortable with mitigating silvering. (Check out this segment on the Kuster. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZq3gp19jdtgd9E) The "spot gloss" method is definitely a very good way to "have your cake and eat it too"! I generally recommend that if you're not comfortable with it, or are new to waterslides - gloss coat every time. Thanks for watching and commenting! I'm grateful! 😊

So if I'm getting that homemade flow improver recipe right, it's a gallon of distilled water, you remove 12 oz of water from the jug, and then you replace that 12 oz with..... Tubutal? Twobutal?
@JonBius4 жыл бұрын
Yes - that's right. I did a search for Butyl Cellosolve on Amazon and got some there, though there are other sources. That ratio of solvent and water makes it about a 10% solution, which is roughly between Vallejo Airbrush Thinner and MMP Thinner. If you wanted to make it "hotter", add a bit more. I've not tested a ratio higher than 15% though. As always - use with care! Test it out a few times before production use. Hope that helps - thanks for watching and commenting!

@@JonBius Jon, can you give the brand you e been using? I can’t seem to find it very clearly on the Amazon. Thanks!!

@@gunplabadly It looks like the brand I'd originally purchased is no longer available on Amazon. It was a brand called "Manofohm Mr. MOTH". HTH!
