I just threw together a rustler build it has a esc and brushless motor from the traxxas spartan and runs on 6s. Need a good front weight to keep it down. But im shooting for 110-120 mark. Good job hitting 111 though.

We aren't running similar setup because I don't run those gear. Smoke could be from you slipper clutch could be burnt up.

I don't use slipper or mod.8, but if I'm looking for high-speed bashing, I'd stick to stock gears. Definitely need to replace the slipper clutch or eliminator.
