Gorgeous horse! Hes gonna win a few big ones this season. I do think its criminal not running him in king George, hes a 3 mile horse always has been.

They will probably do the same with him as they have their other top two mile chasers like Remittance Man, Sprinter Sacre, Altior, and Shishkin, keep him at that trip bar maybe the Melling Chase at Aintree's Grand National meeting at 2m4f, being that Aintree is an easy and flat course, then only really step him up in trip if he shows he is no longer up to it at two miles. The King George at Kempton is 'only' worth £143k to the winner, compared to the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham being worth around £100k more. Plus this race here was worth close to £60k and there are other two mile races like the Clarence House at Ascot also worth around £60k, the Celebration Chase and Tingle Creek at Sandown are both worth around £100k each and the Melling Chase is worth around £143k. I know this horse cost around £500,000 and has now won close to £1 million in prize money and is still only an 8YO or soon to be 9YO, but he could have another two to four seasons left and can always go for the King George and maybe even the Cheltenham Gold Cup later if showing signs of two miles becoming too quick for him.

Jonbon is such a good yardstick.....I keep thinking back tho....to constitution hill leaving him a distance behind in the supreme and it does make you wonder why they didn't go chasing with him. I know he ended up injured in any case. But still, if jonbon is this good......just makes you wonder, if only.......

@spikec1803 yeah that's why I said yardstick , I don't think jonbon is anywhere near the class of constitution hill , if he was in that race today that's my point, he'd be 20 lengths ahead of the 3 of them. If it was me I'd skip hurdling and go straight over fences as he would wipe the floor with this lot
