This horse was a complete and utter beast. The best I've seen over 1600 - 2000 metres. His instant and sustained acceleration was absolutely awesome. Dancing Brave and Secretariat are the only other horses I've seen with similar incredible otherworldly talent that Frankel had.

Maybe it's just me but Frankel's action or gait in full flight looks very similar to the silky, near perfect gliding over the turf action of the wonderful Nashwan. Technique wise they both really knew how to fully hyper extend their front legs right out to cover as much ground as possible with each bound. Poetry in motion to say the least.

Yes, Frankel was so brilliant that her owner made sure to avoid running against Black Caviar when she came to England. They wanted no part of her. It would have been pretty embarrassing to get beat by a filly. Then, his owner avoids bringing him to the Breeders Cup to face the gelding Wise Dan. I found that to be very strange because they bring all their best turf horses over every year, except for Frankel. They didn’t want to get beat by a gelding so they kept Frankel at home to face the same horses he faced in just about every race. What a farce. Frankel was very far from great and avoiding Black Caviar when she was in England said it all…. They were terrified to run against her because they knew Frankel would lose. Same thing with Wise Dan….they were terrified to run against that beast because they knew Frankel would lose. He races against garbage all the time in every race. He faced nobody of quality. You people are crazy to the no that horse was anything special. They purposely ducked two great horses because they didn’t want to lose….no other reason to avoid certain horses unless you know that you will lose.

@@susanurban5920 Bit difficult to compare as BC seemed to be a 6F horse and Frankel tended to run over further, so it's difficult to get a level playing field for them. Once you step up to 7 or 8 F, there's often no incentive to drop back down, when bigger prizes exist at 8 and 10 (and 12 !) furlongs. The only timings stat I can see for them both running at the same distance on the same ground shows BC 0.4 seconds quicker, but it means very little, compared with Frankel being rated slightly higher on official ratings. If you compare their ratings at Ascot towards the end of their respective careers, BC was rated at 132, compared with Frankel's two rating there of 138 and 140.

I find it strange that Frankels owner always brought his best turf horses to run in the Breeders Cup every year, except for Frankel. Strange….very strange I find that to be. They were afraid to get beat by Wise Dan…a gelding, so they kept that plug at home to face the same horses he ran against in pretty much every race. I thought it was hilarious that they avoided Black Caviar like the plague. They made darn sure to avoid that filly. That would have been very embarrassing to have a filly beat their so-called wonder horse. LOL!

Indeed i feel sure Frankel would have taken his chance in the Breeder cup had Henry had he been of good health. Lastly Frankel almost broke Ascot's Mile track record in the Queen Anne on ground described as good to soft and that feat alone marks him down as one of the greats .

Goldikova was well past her prime at that point…and you know it. Frankel beat nobody but the same horses over and over….boring. They were afraid to run against Black Caviar and Wise Dan. I was so hoping that they would have brought him over for the Breeders Cup Mile on turf. I wanted to see Wise Dan swallow him up in the stretch so bad. When I learned that they were not bringing him over for the BC turf mile, that made me mad and laugh at the he same time. His owners always bring their best horses over for the cup turf races….for years and years BUT not Frankel. They hats okay….the mighty gelding hat they purposely avoided running against would have embarrassed Frankel and handed him a devastating defeat. That is why they kept that nag home…they didn’t want to bring him all the way to America to be embarrassed by a gelding. What a joke.

And wise Dan didn't come over to race Frankel so your point of travel is silly. Secondly, proving Frankel against a top class 10f horse is better than winning another mile race. Indeed on form Frankel would have won the BCM and what would people say????? That he only won one 10f race and went back to a mile. The didn't avoid Wise Dan. They avoided yet another mile race in favour of the champion stakes and a horse rated at 135 (if I remember Cirrus des Aigles rating. Wise Dan beat Animal kingdom who hadn't run since.Feb. The saying goes 'eat lamb, coyotes cannot be wrong'. With all those pundits describing Frankel as the greatest or highest-rated horse in the world, they cannot be wrong. There must be a lot of truth behind it. For one, Frankel was never beaten which is a very rare accolade. Two, he did not beat the opposition: he destroyed them, and that set him apart from the other greats. Three, he beat over 60 Group One winners (I think the number is 79). His winning distances and style of running really make him stand out as a rare and extraordinary animal. Yet despite all his achievements on the race tracks, one will still find the occasional moaner who demeans his incredible record. 'Go on The Champ' still rings through my ears.

York Was His Best Race. The Best Horse I'll ever see. Too young to Remember Dancing Brave, Shergar And El Gran Senor. His trainer knew his horse. Would have blown up in an Epsom Derby at 3. No chance would he have won an Arc, maybe A Breeders cup turf or Mile but then again it's America, different rules, Rock Of Gibraltar got turned over there. So why risk it, He Won A Classic And A group one or two, beat his seniors and juniors and went to stud unbeaten, so win win for his owners, thank you for The memories.

I never saw a horse’s owner purposely avoid running against real competition they avoided Black Caviar when she was in England to race and they avoided bringing him to the Breeders Cup because they were afraid of Wise Dan. That I find strange as well. Frankels owner has no problem sending all his nest turf horses over for the Breeders Cup, he just didn’t want to being no Frankel over to get whipped by Wise Dan. I was dying to see Frankel face a real competitor but what does his owner do….not bring him. I was so disappointed. I couldn’t wait to see Wise Dan wipe the track with Frankel but his owner was terrified to put him up against real competition, yet, they always send their horses here every year for the Cup….just not Frankel. They could not handle seeing Frankel lose to a gelding. I was so angry when they chickened out. I could not wait to see Frankel the farce get his butt whipped by a gelding. They also wanted no part of the filly, Black Caviar when she was in the same country. They deliberately avoided running against her because they didn’t want to lose and blemish the record and future stud fee. Frankel was a manufactured farce. He beat nothing of quality….absolutely nothing and his owners were afraid to race real competition.

@jeff griffin lol yes l have been living on the SPHERICAL earth. Tbh though horses are not high on my viewing list. We have less than 10 horses in my entire country and the only time horse racing comes on the tv is if it is a recap of one of the legs of the triple crown. Thank God for the internet..

Just came across this randomly. First time seeing frankel. Was impressed with the turn of foot. Im only new to racing so still getting my head around it all. I noticed bullet train shooting out in most races then frankel exploding off the back of that. Think i heard they were stable mates? Does that have anything to do with with its brilliance? The last race seemed closer when he wasnt on bullet trains back?

Here in my country "Mauritius Island" horse racing is like a sort of GOD to us...we have the oldest race track in the southern hemisphere which is the "Champs de Mars" 207 or 208 years old...and we have like 38 or 40 races in 1 season excluding the "IJW (International Jockeys Weekend)" and we have 4 classics group 1 races...last season a stable have brought 1 incredible, magnificent horse named "White River" and guess what, he is still unbeaten and he has won all the 4 classics which is an incredible record because no horses had done it, before dethroning a certain "Enaad" who had won the most important classic here in Mauritius 2 consecutive seasons named "The Maiden Cup".. If you have some time everyone here..just check this magnificent horse "White River" what he has done here last year...!! This year 1 famous and oldest stable have brought 2 incredible crack horses named "Africa Rising" and " Made To Conquer" to just try and beat the unbeaten "White River".. So we mauritians are simply waiting for the new season to start in March!! 😊😊😁😁
