This was a great step for Taylor's career, it's just disappointing that the media and some immature swifties make this all about Jake Gyllenhaal, he was allegedly the inspiration for this song, but it isn't his song, it's ours and it's sad af.

But when you find out more details about how an artist you love and admire was hurt by someone it's a natural reaction to wanna come to their defense. Imagine being that age and this happening to you. That's us whom she's reading to at the end...she loves her fans. Jake G. used her as narcissistic supply, full stop.

Yeah, it was all so interesting in 2012. They both moved on. Now it's just getting annoying. Taylor said it herself, the song has changed because of how the fans can relate too much and we scream on top of our lungs everytime she sang it. Let's just enjoy it as it is.

I know this has been talked to death about but the casting for this short film is absolutely brilliant! Getting Dylan O’Brien whose break out role was in teen wolf which came out in 2011 when he was 20 and he’s now 30 (Sadie would’ve been around 10) then casting Sadie Sink whose break out role was literally a middle schooler and really wasn’t that long ago. Even though she’s 19 we’ll always see her as a child actress who grew up not an actress who was a child star. And that makes the age difference all the more apparent.

As someone who has grown up listening to Taylor and having a chronic pain condition, it's incredibly touching that you could find similar solace and outlet in her music for the kind of anguish that invades all aspects of 'normal' living when being in pain. If I'd not had her music at 12 years old to lie on the floor and cry to, the tears would have fallen at school instead from the pain I was in. I sincerely hope that your pain eases, even if it can only ease so much.

I feel like the scarf was an indication to the real scarf but also her V card hence being Red. When Taylor said “because it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me, you can’t get rid of it” saying he took her innocence so he could never give it back to her cause he was the first guy she shared it with. She saved herself for marriage but gave it to him.

to answer your question; yes, the whole album kind of navegates with the meaning of the color red and it mentions it in different ways through different songs. apart from the "you almost ran the red cause you were looking over at me" and the "your cheeks were turning red", she has a song called red on the album, the title track (amazing song). in that song she sings "loving him was red", "moving on from him is impossible when i still see it in my head, in burning red" and also adds other colors like "losing him was blue" "missing him was dark gray". she talked about naming the album red because it represents the feeling of the relationship and the love she experienced at that time of her life. for taylor, red could represent the feeling of this big first love, deep, passionate and crazy, but it's also all the bad stuff: anger, dissapointment, sadness, heartbreak, etc. that's the reason why she talks about red so much, it's the meaning of everything. i find it so interesting and also cute because later on, in 2019 she released her album "Lover" with happy and in-love songs, where she perfectly describes what it truly is to be in love in a healthy, beautiful way. the last track on Lover is called daylight, and there she sings "I once believed love would be burning red, but it's golden like daylight". my favorite glow up ever ❤️ full circle moment

She just recreated all like she felt it and that's why we got to tears, we can relate to her pain. The line "It's supposed to be fun turning 21" when she was heartbroken, it's heavy, and we can recall that same moment in our lives. She is really good at everything she tries. One of the best of her generation, the same mine.

The way you talked about having to put on an act to hide your pain reminded me of what I do as an autistic person, I mask my autistic traits so I can appear 'normal.' I don't do this consciously, not really, and not because I'm ashamed of being autistic, it's just an instinctive defence to avoid other people's judgement. It's really exhausting, keeping an act up like that for so long and so often. I hope you have a place or a person you can vent to, somewhere you can feel safe to be open and vulnerable with, because it really helps, letting your shield down for a while and just letting yourself breathe.

There’s so much detail and emotion added to the 10 minute version & the film - thank you for reacting to it! Interesting that you mentioned the last time you saw Sadie she was a kid. I think Taylor did this deliberate casting to really emphasise the age gap & power dynamic in the relationship and how young she still was during it. I believe she was 20 and Jake was 29 when they dated. Understandable that you don’t want to react to the whole album. Maybe you could just check out the new songs added (from the vault). There’s 8 songs if you exclude the 10 minute version of all too well as you’ve already heard it. Her collab with Phoebe Bridgers on Nothing New is magical!

The last moment is very important. She literally showed how she took all the pain and wrote a book and told the audience about it. Exactly what Taylor did a decade ago. But she wrote all too well instead. And she kept singing the song to everyone. She shared her pain. Its beautiful but tragic.

Almost a year late to the party here. I'm going through some bad times. This song hit me hard. I'm the guy that left an 11 years relationship 6 months ago because of feelings I've never experienced before. Couldn't decipher if the relationship was the cause. Now I realize it had some things to work on, most especially on my part, but the break up of it was a consequence. I think. 6 months later, I'm feeling worst than before, cumulating a heartbreak and what I assume is Depression. Never went through such hopelessness, loneliness, despair, sadness, anger. Yeah, this song hits different when you're the one that left, I guess. PS: and to be clear, she nor I were ever abusive in the relationship. I was more agreeable and less assertive, surely, and probably lost myself. But doesn't make it less heartbreaking.

The audience listening to her as she's reading broke me because metaphorically WE ARE ALL in that audience at the reading listening to her. It's like we have been right there with her feeling the heartbreak she's describing through her music, mesmerized by this amazing lyricist.
@mariapaulafelix11373 жыл бұрын
Red is the theme of the album cuz Taylor said the color represents for her the most intense feelings of a relationship, like passion, anger, love, jealous etc. So the lyrics in the album talks about all the feelings that she felt during this relationship, all the good moments and frustration and sad moments, this is most self explanation on the lyrics to the song "Red" and during the album and the song (All Too Well) so do references to the colors and feelings.
@marabu_003 жыл бұрын
I think that's what makes Taylor's music live on, the emotional connection she establishes through her music. Thank you for the video. I'm sorry to hear that you will not do the entire album (because I would gladly sit through a 3 h reaction 😁) but maybe you can listen to some highlights from it? My recommendation would be: State of Grace, Red, Treacherous, The Last Time, Holy Ground, Sad Beautiful Tragic, The Lucky One, Begin Again, The Moment I Knew, Ronan, Nothing New & Forever Winter. That's just 12 songs. I would really love it if you would react to those because your input is my favorite to hear about her music. Thank you for allowing yourself to be vulnerable, we're all human.

I totally understand you getting emotional and saying your own physical pain bringin it out.. I am the exact same way. I also live with chronic pain and is always hurting and I do the same thing.
